My long-standing albeit dormant back problem has picked a great time to surface. I am flat on my back and am not going to the Dragon. :???: Worse, I can't even get into my Mini for awhile.

I'll be thinking of you guys - have a great time! I'll keep my fingers crossed for next year.

Greetings from Abingdon, VA. What a nice ride down here....clear, warm, and only one smokey sighting in @ 425 miles. 81, which can be a semi-truck nightmare, wasn't bad. Just enough trucks to keep you on your toes.

Spring has sprung down here...it's really pretty.

We had dinner at a Cracker Barrel, and I picked up some cool prizes for the Cookoff. Yup, at a Cracker Barrel. What a treat, eh? Of course, even plastered with bug guts, MY S looks pretty damn fabu

The weather's s'posed to deteriorate by Monday AM....perfect weather for visiting the Cherokee Casino, which isn't too far from R'ville. Cha-CHING!

I don't think the Microtel has DSL, so updates might be sparse.....SEE ALLA YOU GUYS REAL SOON!!!!!!!!
Big hugs.

Katie,

I'm sending you good luck via ciberspace-I won $200 at the casino last night on a 25cent video poker. Maybe it will rub off. Good luck at the casino. I feel so lucky I even bought a power ball lottery ticket tonight!!!!!

thanks Lo,
Last time I was in a casino, I won 400 bucks on the quarter slots. Of course it took me over 100 bucks to do it, but I still came out ahaed. Good luck with the lottery!

Wow - I'm so jealous. I have a feeling this will be one of the best US MINI events yet. Wish I could make it.

OFFICIAL COUNTDOWN: 4 DAYS to the DRAGON.............

Sorry, I was a wee bit late with my update, but I had to have a wonderful breakfast with Cooperation and his delightful wife, Cindy. I have to say (and it isn't just because I learned how much he monitors the boards), he and his wife are just about the poster children for how great MINI people are. Oh, they are just delightful. If you ever get a chance to have a meal with them, do so...you will laugh and have a blast.....not to mention learn a few things too.

(Here's to bigger events we need tees for so I have an excuse for more breakfasts with Cooperation and Cindy)

Alrighty, here's my updates....

I've scrubbed out TWO coolers so I can keep the cold stuff cold on the way down (the boy will not be without his yogurt). I am running LOADS of laundry so we won't be naked while we are down there -- and the boy gets to wear his "cute" clothes. I'm in the process of making final the ballots for the Cook-off...and preparing for my week ahead. Hubby has scrubbed both cars to go down....already covered in pollen.

Before I lay my head down tonight, I plan on having the ballots printed and done. My son all packed up. And a few random things done.

Oh, I HAVE the Cook-off Tees and aprons...can I just say...they are AWESOME. I hope you know I'm glad I have mine....because those of you who don't have one...you'll be WAY jealous.

Katie: glad your trip is going well...

I'm off to run more errands before the Dragon,

Hugs,
PB

GB:
I'm reading through your list and I get about a line or two from the bottom...thinking...'is he going to wear the same undies all weekend?? I do hope he remembers his clothing.' Teehee....I just know all of that will fit in the car.

Alrighty, almost time for me to head off to sleep again...so I can flip one more day off the countdown.

Hugs,
PB

We washed and waxed the cars yesterday (knowing full well it's supposed to pour tomorrow). They looked really spiffy...

...And were covered in tree pollen when we got up this morning!

Hell, both are daily drivers, they get dirty, if somebody doesn't like it... oh well!

Actually, our cars don't get dirty they get EXPERIENCED!

Don't feel bad about having a less than spotless MINI at the Dragon

A heavy coat of brake dust should be proudly displayed as a badge of honor

OFFICIAL COUNTDOWN: 3 DAYS to the DRAGON

Oh, my I can't wait! I have so much to do...and this past weekend, we got some of it done....but alas I got sick....so best to get sick now and not at the Dragon....

However, I'm pleased to report I'm now sporting one the better sexy, deep voices in awhile...wonder if it will last long enough to make myself a career in phone sex? Oh, well...perhaps that wouldn't be as nice as my current career....

well, I have such a short time til we leave for the Dragon....I SO want to leave the night before, but Hubby has mid-terms...and MINImiller thinks I shouldn't roaming the back roads of NC alone in the middle of the night trying to find the Fontana. Hmmm....decisions, decisions.

GB: I'm glad to hear that you will be bringing your clothing...I don't think I had read that Kool and Yucca had changed the Midnight run to a NAKED midnight run....or had they??? What was that I was reading about "Moonburn"???

Hugs,
PB
