Just a reminder to my fellow Chili Chefs. I was packing some stuff together for the cookout and I thought it wise to share my list with others so none of us forget anything.

** Crock Pot
** Portable propane Grill (I am cooking my meat for the cook-off on site before the event) with fuel canisters. Don't forget the matches too!
** Skillet
** Utensils for cooking (i.e. spatula, knife, spoon, scooper-outer, something to stir with)
** Measuring cups and spoons
** Extension cord (lord knows where these electrical outlets will be)
** Tupperware (for left overs)
** Some dishwashing liquid and a small sponge to clean the pots with afterwards

I am assuming that we will be having tables to put our crock pots on right? If possible I think we should get a group picture of all the Chili Chefs during the cookout (sporting our cool new aprons).

Hope this helps!

Considering the fantastic turn-out we are going to have for the chili cook-off, I highly doubt that there will be any LEFT OVERS!

Yes ... should be in R-ville early evening. Then I can go for a "drive" (somewhere) first thing Thursday AM.

[NOTE: Weather report looks better and better! ]

Good call Driving_Hamster

I’ll be bringing 3 or 4 power strips that will accommodate 6 to 8 cords each, but you’ll have to bring your own extension cords if you wish to spread out a little bit.

Thanks, Driving_Hamster, for the reminder about the outlet situation. The preferred food prep situation is for all chilis to have been prepared ahead of time and merely re-heated in each competing individual's own crockpot (brought from home) in the Dam Room. Tables will be provided by Fontana Village.
Co-host, Dragon's Breath Chili Cook-Off

This will prove once and for all that Clover is a concept person and I'm the detail person.

3rd: Wynnonna

Yes, we are planning the next cook-off as we speak. We owe lots of thanks to the Fontana for their help.

And as a final note: thank everyone who came and brought food to share. WOW. I had such a blast that night and the rest of the trip. Thank you all.

Hugs,
PB

Hey, I was just walking by, minding my own business, when I suddenly
had a wrench thrust into my hand. I just did what came naturally after
that.
