Not sure if the Sidewalk Edition is much more desirable than a typical R52 S but figured I'd post in case anyone is looking for one.
i thought superchargers ended in 2006. Guess not.

First generation convertibles, with the supercharged engine, continued into 2008

Surface 7 interior, too bad no anthracite headliner, but definitely nice and will probably be gone tomorrow if not sooner. Looks like a dealer that sells a lot of r53s.

There's a Dark Silver '05 JCW on the "Mini Cooper - Buy, Sell, Trade" Facebook page right now. $10,500, 47k miles.

not the cleanest, or the lowest mileage - and not a factory JCW? Ambitious asking price.

I actually think it’s a very fair price. Has JCW tuning kit, JCW brake kit, and factory LSD. All the important stuff

The remainder is a low mileage blank canvas to make your own. Not a lot of cars like this have surfaced lately.

It's a 16 year-old car with 47k on it (3k miles/year...). I think it's clean, very low mileage, and worth the asking price.
BaT has done weird things to what people think a collectible -or otherwise worthy- car is.

Also interested to know why people have such an aversion to Dealer vs Factory installed kits. They all use wrenches.
I have a thoughtfully modded '05 JCW I'd let go for $8k

Dealer kit doesn’t include LSD and brake kit. The fact that this car has everything makes it a moot point.

Ask anyone with experience on a track with Mk1 MINI's, who have actually tracked both sans the LSD, and one with.....they will tell you the gains are marginal at best and typically unremarkeable ....I would not allow the lack of that component sway my decision.

I agree, it’s still a low mile JCW facelift with JCW brakes and the optional LSD. All things being equal, the only things a factory JCW would have on it is it would be a year newer, and the bragging rights of the option being listed on the window sticker.

This car sounds like a good deal if everything checks out. Under 50K is pretty low for a 2005 MINI which I think is in the “regular” car/brand realm and, except for the GP1 or GP2, was not even remotely collectible until very recently, even if a JCW.

The only real benefits of Factory JCW were the included brakes and LSD. Possibly not even the brakes since R56S front calipers and rotors are functionally the same and a cheap and easy upgrade.

I installed an LSD in my 04 JCW - and I won’t be bothering with one on my new 02 JCW

I have no aversion to factory versus dealer JCW, I’ve had one of each - but if I were looking at an 06 I’d probably prefer a factory one over a dealer one, since it was the only year they did a factory install in the R53

Is this the factory LSD, or any LSD in an R53 in general?

And....this one even comes with the optional "Amazing charm" package at no additional cost!

Looks like a nice, clean blank canvas to start with.

Talking about "amazing charm",
here's a question:

if this thing popped up on CL for a low price,
would you consider it?
