Nice find! If I had to be picky, the car has every option package, but missed the rear fog light so there is a missing toggle switch.
Also, suspect there may have been a front end repair. The ad states that the car has the full “factory aero” kit, including the front bumper. However it has the standard front bumper and the front grille is from a 2002-2004 pre-LCI car, so it’s been replaced. And the bonnet swoop stripe is missing.
Still, gotta love a 25k mile R53 w/LSD. I’d ****** it up, sell off the interior, find an Aero front bumper, and this would make a great R53.
I had a conversation with the seller and paid for a Carfax report. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF TITLE WASHING. The entire vehicle was reported to have had damage to it while in Oregon. It has a branded or salvaged title but he claims he has a clean title and that everything is as it should be. Stay away!
Huh... didn't realize the R60/R61 had such an extensive mid-cycle interior refresh. Those door cards look nothing like our R61 (yes I realize the doors are completely different sizes)
Hah! Fooled me! I definitely read "UK LISTING" and then proceeded to scroll down was super impressed with the lack of wear on the driver's seat.... oh wait... RHD.... dangit! Sweet seats though.
Some strange inaccuracies in the description, but whatevers, this thing is cool!
If you know about Mini Coopers then you know all about this car MINT 2006 Mini Cooper S Checkmate with John Cooper Work's! 6 speed. This Mini Checkmate was built in England although BMW started making them in Greenville SC in 2006. And this Mini had the John Cooper Works installed by the son of John Cooper, Mike Cooper and when he was done and ready to ship it he sent me the photo and certificate that he singed off on saying "It's on it's way"! It also has upgrades all from the dealer like John Cooper Works 19 Rims, Custom Black interior, Arm rest, Steering wheel Gage's, Fog lights, Power sun roof, Heated seats steering fluid and side view mirrors, Union Jack Mirror caps! There are only 21 of these that were made in the first 6 month's of 2006 and I'v seen them for sale on line with out the JCW's for up to $10.000. This is a very rare car in great shape. This is a smoke free car, I don't even eat in this car, I take very good care of it always. I bought this Mini Brand New and I always keep it in my garage and I don't use it as a daily driver that's why it's in great condition and everything is in great working order! I was told from a guy I use to know that race Mini's in England to install a traction bar so I did and what a big difference it made in steering! That is the only after market part on the hole car and you can remove it once you buy it if you want. Nothing wrong with this Mini and it's in better shape then cars that are returned after a 3yr lease. A Great JCW's Mini Cooper S Checkmate! The only reason why I am selling my pride and joy is because it's hard for me to drive a stick shift after three shoulder surgery's but I have no problem holding on to it. It sits in my garage with a battery tender on it and I only take it out once a week just to run it. FIRM!!!PLEASE NO TEXT I WILL NOT REPLY, AND DON'T ASK ME TO MEET OR EMAIL YOU I WONT! NO TRADES! IF YOU HAVE THE CASH AND ARE READY TO BUY CALL one six three one 332 4877. I paid $32000 for it New, Blue Book price is $7200 on a 2006 Checkmate S with out the JCW's... Thanks for looking.
I'd be all over that car if I had the loot to spend just because I dig the Checkmate edition and this one is a JCW with super low mileage, one owner, neat accessories like JCW sill plates + factory boost/volt gauges --- looks to be very well kept too.
If it was a slicktop I doubt I could resist and would be out getting a loan for this then sell my current R53!
Is that a 2nd gen steering wheel retrofit? I don't like the 1st gen steering wheel with the two gigantic spokes and didn't realize they had another option.
Sorry, I skimmed through the wall of text but it made my eyes hurt. >.<

Yeah, the early R53 up to about mid '04 had the 2 spoke. Midway through '04 they started incorporating facelift items on R53 which included 3 spoke wheel, projector HID headlights, changed the tailights to include reverse light in the housings and removed the orange TS lens and 3 piece dash instead of 5 piece. They also did some mechanical changes such as tighter gears in the GETRAG and updated the SC to include the teflon coating. I believe they changed the ECU brand, tweaked the tune a little and made improvements to the exhaust which added up to an additional 7HP.
