2006 MINI JCW Gp

I bought a JCW GP (1653) and I don't think that this is the car I was looking for. The car is located in SoCal and has roughly 350 miles on it. As far as options and such, the car has the standard GP package along with a bluetooth kit that was installed. Tom @ EAS has see the car and can vouch for it. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 949-463-6073

Alex

I am looking for someone to take over the current lease. The lease payment is 761 a month. I have made 2 payments already which leaves 34 months. If that doesn't appeal to you, feel free to make an offer.

Wow...$761 is quite high, you may want to sell for payoff.

LEASED WOW i can't believe a dealer would do that. and 761 a month thats crazy. Good luck with getting rid of it. This is why they should have only sold them to people who own a mini already.

$761 x 34 = $25,874 Not bad relative to the $31,150 MSRP. Depending on residual, of course.

Thats a good point, depending on how much you had to put down.

And if there is a balloon payment at the end of the lease for a buyout option?

you guys need to stop grapping the man's thread. there should be a rule that price decisions be left to the seller and buyer and that comments from the peanut gallery will be deleted

Well no asking price was originally posted and I dont know if the monthly payments qualify as an asking price? Either way the thoughts posted are all things that should be considered by someone thinking about "buying" this car.

BEATNUT

P.S. Free bump for keeping this up top. Keep in mind also, you cant get a GP anywhere and this one I still classify as NEW with only a few hundred miles on it so if there is a reasonable buy-out at the end of the 34 months then this could be a good deal.

In this case, downpayment = 0, as he's just looking for someone to take over payments.

Residual = "balloon payment at the end of the lease for a buyout option"

So in order to understand asking price, we need to know whether it's and open or closed end lease, and if the latter, what the residual is.

open end = buy option determined by market value of vehicle at lease end.
closed end = buy option amount predetermined at lease inception.

Edit-Patagonia GT, this isn't ebay. The listing is free, but the price you pay is others being able to post comments. The Marketplace skews toward buyers vs. sellers. If you're over market, you'll hear about it. Ebay is the place to go for top dollar. NAM enthusiasts tend to protect each other, especially when the seller is a newbie only posting to list the sale.

sellers may not like it....But every buyer appreciates the input of those knowledgable enthusiasts. It establishes a true market price not just the sucker market price. Better to have someone mad because they couldn't sell some overpriced item then have lots of people pay too much, many possibly brand new to the MINI community and didn't know any better only to have their first experiance here to be a bad one

Guess it just depends on who you are looking out for

I didn't mean to make anyone mad i was just trying to make sure both sides get what they want.

I'm sorry, but this is retarded.

BECAUSE, at the end of those 34 months, you will not own the car!!!!!!

It's a lease!

Before you make inflammatory statements, jymontoya, you should understand that the residual (as defined above) is the amount you'll pay for the car if you want to keep it. If the residual is very low, it could be a good deal, or not. As stated, it depends on the residual. There are several different types of leases, and all allow for the leasee to purchase the vehicle, though the purchase price can vary.
You're also essentially financing the car for three years. $25,784 over three years is not worth as much as $25,784 today. Time value of money, and all.

Well... I wouldn't have said retarded, but it definitely sounds like this guy's in trouble... ...and the dealer is making a tidy profit on this car...

I've never understood why anyone would lease anything, except an apartment. They say it's a great way to get into a car you could not otherwise afford. But by the time the dealer is finsihed bending you over for all those "incidental" charges and taxes and fees and and and...,, Well, by then you are probably paying nearly what it would cost to buy anyway. Maybe I am hopelessly middle-class, but for $761 a month I would expect more than just a car, I would also expect a cemetary plot to burry the thing in when I'm finished with it.
