I was driving to work this morning, and saw what I thought was a JCW GP parked at the local Chrysler dealership. Since I know the difference between a MINI and a PT Cruiser , I decided to check it out at lunch. Sure enough, this Chrysler dealer has a 2006 JCW GP for sale. It has 88 miles on the odometer per the salesman, it is numbered 0148, and they are asking $39k ish. The gentleman who came outside while I was looking at it is named Herb. The dealer's number is 352-726-1238. They are located in Inverness, Florida. He said they had it on eBay and it didn't sell. I didn't exactly inspect it, but it seems clean from the outside. I didn't drive it, and I did not look at the interior. I have no relationship with this dealer, but thought I'd let people know about this car. I understand they are hard to find.
Go offer them $29k and tell them that this is what they will end up selling it for 6 months from now. Sell it now and avoid 6 months of aggravation. See what happens.

I offered them sticker plus $500 and they said no!!
I am assuming that you called them because you are in Miami and Armchairman is in Central FL assuming Orlando. It may be better to go in person. I would if I was still down there.
MINI of Sterling still has one sitting on the backlot, unsold.
And what are they asking? if over MSRP, I can see why it is sitting there.
Only an uninformed idiot would pay over MSRP for ANY car.
<expecting flames from 1/2 of the GP owners on this board>

I'm work in Inverness, where the car is. I live in a rural, unincorporated area of Citrus County. When I was there, I made it clear that I wasn't interested, but was asking for others. I didn't get a sense of whether or not they are flexible on price. I also had no idea what GP's were going for, if I had, I probably wouldn't have even started this thread. That said, if this MINI becomes a NAMer's baby, I'll be happy.
