WTT: SVT for MC

Hello,

I'm looking to trade my 2002 Ford Focus SVT with a 7 year, 100K mile warranty. It is completely loaded with every possible option. My wife is stuck in a lease for her Jeep Liberty and begins a 100 mile/day commute this month. I will have to drive her Jeep (to keep the mileage down) but she can't drive a manual. So, I'd like to trade the SVT for a MC with an automatic transmission. I'm pretty open and would also consider a manual MC (she would learn to drive a manual if it was a MINI). Here area some details for the SVT:

2 door hatchback
Color: Silver
Mileage: 52K
Transmission: 6 speed manual
Safety Features: Driver and passenger air bags, front side-impact air bags, ABS (anti-lock brake system), and SecuriLock passive anti-theft system
170 HP
Audiophile sound system (290 watts) - 6 disc indash CD player, upgraded premium speakers, an 8" subwoofer with amplifier and steering wheel controls
17" SVT wheels with an extra set of like new snow tires
Loaded with every available option including extras
Black leather interior with blue inserts
Power sunroof/moonroof
Brand new Borla cat-back exhaust (stainless steel)
Power everything
Keyless entry
Heated seats
Heated mirrors
Cruise control
Fog lights
Tinted windows
Also available: 17" light-weight Rota Slipstream wheels (gunmetal with a polished lip). They are almost 5 pounds lighter per wheel than stock and have less than 1000 miles on them. Rota is a custom wheel that cost around $1200 for a set of 4.

Thanks for looking!

Hey just wondering, are you a member on FJ (www.focaljet.com)?

Good luck trading the SVT in.

Sure am! How do you know about Focal Jet? You must be an SVT fan?

I was going to buy a focus, then I decided to save up for my MINI instead! If you couldn't tell, my name is polizei on there as well! I've been a member since June of 05'! What's your name on there? Now there's Thameth, me, MCSGUY, and hopefully soon you with MINI's on FJ.

Homestar is my name on FJ...I joined NAM long before I joined FJ, but I've been on there many times. I also like FocusFanatics and actually spend more time there. The SVT is a great enthusiast car!

I love your MINI by the way! It made my top 3 color combos (along with PW/B and DS/B).

Hehe, thanks! I've posted pics on the Jet before, under Rigz. If you have any questions about MINI's, shoot me a PM and I'll try to answer them.

Good luck on getting a MINI, they are a BLAST!

worth a shot

I figured it was worth a shot to post...I know the SVT is a very competitive car for people who like to autocross. It handles great (not as good as a MINI) and has better acceleration than a MCS. I would say that it is one of the best "bang for your buck" cars you can buy in the "fun to drive" category.

I have met one MC owner who was thinking about selling his MC to get an SVT...so there must be others out there too! I know most people on this site are MINI fanatics (understatement) but people like to "switch it up" every now and then.

I dunno if I agree with your statement that the SVT has better acceleration than a MINI....unless that SVT had a Powerworks on it! It might have better acceleration than an MC, but my brother has a ZX3 with stuff done to it, and while it's fast, I don't think it's faster than my MINI.

Perhaps you're right...I guess I could have my facts wrong, but I thought the Focus SVT had a quicker 0-60 time than the MCS...I may be mistaken.

I think the problem your going to run into is the MC is just worth more and people don't like to give money away.

If that were the case, I would be more than willing to compensate with extra cash!
