06 MCS for sale....

2006 MCS for sale....
I am looking into getting out of my 06 MCS. Right now its getting to be too much for me and i need to get rid of it. The car is leased, so the best way to do this is outright buy it. Its looking for a nice home, and a warm garage . The price that i am asking is payoff on the car, $23k. The car is still under warrenty till 30k miles and it has 28k miles. The car color is Royal Grey, has the sport package, harom cardon system, Plays MP3's, Sunroof and moonroof, Cloth seats, cruise control, DSC control, fogs, HID headlights, Tinted windows 5%, All blacked out, with a few mods. It has the 16% RD pulley, My mini exhaust, power slot rotors in the front w/Hawk HPS pads, abd boost/air fuel gauge's, And NEW BFgoodrich KDW's 215/45/17. I had all service stuff completed by hendrick mini, and i did a few extra oil changes my self with Mobil 1 Full syn. If anyone is interested please contact me @ 803-493-8690. If you are interested to take a look, I will meet you one afternoon. Or you can e-mail me for pictures @ spikedacrzyman@yahoo.com. trying to see if there is any interest out there. I Hate to do this but i have to send my baby off . Pm if interested. Spike

Maintenance is still be kept up so, no neglect is be made to the MCS... its my baby till the end. Shes just parked in the garage more of the time. If anyone wants any pictures please feel free to ask. Thanks Spike

Can't vouch for the web site(s) in question, but it would seem that in the grand scheme of things that $130 to sell or otherwise extricate oneself from an onerous lease payment isn't out of line.

One issue I think that some Mini owners are running into right now is that Minis sell a lot better in the spring and summer months. Yes, I know, all cars do, but some more so that others -- just noting what the volume as been through Manheims (brother in law has two car dealerships and watches these things carefully).

Agree -- wasn't trying to rain on your parade. Sorry if it came off that way. Best of luck on the sale!

No problem, I do understand that its slow and all with x-mas coming. I know its going to be slow. All i can do is keep her nice and warm and shiney in the garage. If it gets to cold out i will give her a blanket. But like i said the MCS is still here and ready for her new owner.... Spike

I have a suggestion, and please hear me out. This car was originally listed for sale (on this Forum) on 6/12/06. According to the post back then, your lease payment is $450/month. So, in four months, you've paid out $450 x 4 = $1,800. Now, I don't know if you rely on this car as your primary form of transportation or whether your drive it much (I got the impression from your posts that it spends a lot of time parked in the garage, but I could be wrong), but if I were in your shoes the math I'd be doing is something along the lines of: "Do I want to spend another $1,800 for a car that I'm not using or don't need just to let it sit there because I believe it's worth more or I because I don't want to take a 'loss' and sell it at less than the lease buyout?" Again, a lot depends on whether or not you need the car or not, but at some point, wouldn't it be worth it to take an $1,800 hit (another 4 months worth of payments) and sell it for $1,800 less than the lease buyout and get rid of the uncertainty of not knowing whether or not it is going to sell . . . especially coming up on the winter months? Just a suggetion, but I'm betting you'd get a lot more takers at $21k.

The other alternative is to wait 4 more months, dropping the sales price by $450 each month and bleeding yourself slowly . . . .but what you owe as a payoff won't catch up with what people are willing to pay until . . . .the end of your lease -- and probably not even then, as leasing companies typically pump up residual values to make lease payments more attractive -- when my Audi S4 lease came due, my residual buy out was $26k, as I got closer and closer to my turn in date, I got letter after letter from Audi offering to sell me the car at $25k, $24k, $23k. I started to think it was funny, so I decided to see how low they'd go . . . they offered me the car at $21k via a letter, and when I tried to drop it off at the Dealership, they tried to sell it to me at $20k. With the new 2007 body styles / engines coming out, what people are willing to pay for your Mini is going to drop even further and the gap between what you owe as a payoff will get bigger, not smaller.

I'm not trying to **** you off or scare you into selling your car at a price that is bad for you -- I'm honestly trying to help you out with another idea / perspective / experience.

If you need the car as primary transportation, all bets are off. But if you don't the "hold until you get your payoff amount" strategy is almost guarranteed to fail. My two cents. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.
