FS - 2005 MCS CR/CR Located in So. CA

Looking to sell my 2005 MCS.

It has 18,500 miles,
Has been hand-washed only....by me,
Appointments: Prem. Package, Sport Package, Leather, CW Package, LSD, HK, Chrono, All Anthracite, Audio Input, RFog, Bullets, Glove Box Organizer
No accidents or dings...just a few small common chips on the front from the road,
Pictures in my Gallery,
Ordered and Purchased from Classic Mini in Mentor, Ohio. Driven to CA by me.
Only dealer serviced. First oil-change at around 1100 miles, then every 5k to 6k miles.

I have driven my MCS about 70% of the time since my Feb. 22, '05 purchase. I am going to be a father and since it is my main vehicle, I want something bigger with better room for baby and baby things.

Asking Price: $24,995 (Price dropped on 8.18.06)

Thanks for considering it.

So one assumption I can have is that no one here needs a Mini.

Another is that no one likes my price.

I just may keep it!...but after 300 views and not one reply...wondering why.

speaking from a LOCAL point of view

I have passed on your info to 2 people who are mildly interested in a new MCS, both of whom have driven mine (and both said they would want red, like mine and yours) but neither is quite ready to purchase. One is just not sure an MCS is the car for her, and the other is on the fence about the R53 vs R56 models. The Ventura COunty Star has cheap rates for auto ads and MINIs are rarely seen for sale in that publication, it is worth a shot. also, autotrader.com has done VERY WELL for me in the past, and if you are not aware, and this is a ways for you to go, in Thousand Oaks there is a weekend auto sales lot called park n sell at Ventu Park Road, and MINIS usually don't last 24 hours on that lot. I will remind my one friend, who LOVES my car, about yours again today.

Thanks much for the assistance!

I do know about the STar and I have advertised it in the Recycler and on Craigslist, but I think not pushing it to more has been due to my own hesitancy regarding selling. I love the car and would like to keep it, but know that once the baby is here, I'll be the only one using it and most of the time we'll be in my wife's car or the SUV. Thus better to just cut the cord now!

I didn't know about the 24 hour lot on Ventu Park Road and that is only 45 minutes from me if that. So this is definitely an option.

Another perk....no rattles in this one. Just the little plastic rubbing sound once in a while that goes away if you push-up a bit on the dash above the Chronopak.

Again, thanks for the help and if any interest, I'm easy to get a hold of.

While I'm in the market for an MCS, preferably 2005, I'd like to offer that my 2-1/2 year old son has been motoring in my MINI since 4 weeks, and that driving a MINI and raising a child isn't much different than any other car. There are some compromises, but IMO, a larger car doesn't offer more protection for your child. It's common thinking that once you start a family, it's time to sell the MINI. Check out the baby threads here on NAM, I've contributed to many of them.

I met a friend in Canada recently who told me that his cousin sold his MINI after having their second child. After a few months, not only was the father unhappy, but the first child kept asking his dad when he was going to get another MINI because he missed it so much. So guess what, they bought another MINI, and never looked back.

While the safety factor is arguable to death, I'd say reconsider why you think you need to get rid of the MINI, since it's obvious you don't really want to sell it.

For me, having a larger car means hauling more useless stuff that I rarely use. In the MINI, I can comfortably have the essentials. Diaper bag, stroller (full size or umbrella), toys, car seat, and still have 2 passengers in addition to me as the driver. Or like recently, I stayed overnight at a friends, so I packed the overnight portable crib in the boot, the umbrella stroller up front along with all the toys, diapers, food, etc. Mother sat in back with my son!

Just my 2 cents.
