buying advice for a new 2006 mcs?

i have a deposit down on an MCS with sport & premium packages in los angeles area.

i was so eager for the car, the dealer and i just barely talked price at all.
it's all going to be at list price, is my understanding, and that this is pretty common for these vehicles?

what kind of deal is typical for a custom config mini?

MSRP is proabably the best you can do from any dealer. Hopefully they give you a t-shirt. Try and talk them into a set of floor mats but most won't give anything. I paid MSRP for my '05 and never felt bad about doing so. It's the ONLY car I've ever paid sticker for (including my three mercedes!)
Enjoy!

I think there is only two dealers in the LA area which sell at MSRP. South Bay Mini and Long Beach Mini. I bought my '06 at South Bay Mini & had a good experience. I doubt you can get a cooper s below msrp in Los Angeles.

From what I understand in SoCal, you will be quite lucky to only pay MSRP!

great, thanks for the input! i feel much better for not being super aggressive about this with mr russ fowler at south bay mini/bmw.

i knew a lot of the pricing services wouldn't really count since they're mostly custom deliverd for a buyer.

"lucky to only pay MSRP" was exactly my experience this past weekend.

Unfortunately, I did not pay MSRP, but I got what I really wanted and that is what is most important for me.

I got my '06 from Long Beach MINI for MSRP and as was posted above, only LB and South Bay are MSRP dealers.

I didn't get a t-shirt or floor mats though

But I did get a full tank of gas and a spiffy key chain...that will not open enough for my MINI key to fit on

Buying a MINI at MSRP is actually pretty cool (and I'm not saying that because I sell them!!!). You can be anywhere between 18,000 - to wherever you want to land. This is a car that you can build to fit your personality, your pocket book. or a combination of both.

I would get the LSD, Xenons for sure... there are so many options... thats what makes it such a special car.
