Hey, don't be such sore loosers! A quick scan of Auto Trader shows two MCS's for under $8K! Hurry, supplies are limited!

Yellow '04, 18K miles, $8K

Silver '03 36K miles, $7,250

This one isn't even wrecked - Yellow '03, 62K miles, $12,800

Don't understand the 'sore losers' comment though - I'm pretty sure we're happy with our cars. We (for the most part) understand that cars are depreciating assets, not investments.
As I said earlier, though, good deals do come up occasionally.

I apologise if i've offended any mini fanatic, but i am being very real .

C'mon, if you really wanted help you wouldn't have bothered with the smarmy comments.

If you are somehow serious in spite of the remarks just post wanted ads around on forums, clubs, Craigslist, Autotrader, whereever, with the price range you are willing to pay in the subject line, basic description in the body and your contact information w/o unecessary comments. Be prepared for salvage title and other questionable condition cars offered up in that range. Good luck.

What qualifications do you have to make such statement? Have you done research proving the MINI is depreciating in value? Last time I checked, MINI was number one on this list: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11962665/

as well as this one: http://www.forbesautos.com/advice/to...ml?partner=aol

hey skitelluride531,
Thanks for the link to that article, i am assuming you must be a very intelligent person.......... Well since when did an article with a 2.5 rating out of 5 become the basis for an argument ? Next time you wanna talk about anything please do some research and unless you are/were a ' C - minus ' student,2.5 out of 5 is not good enough. ok.like i've said before, Minis are in the 'prestige pricing ' stage and in a matter of time that bubble will burst . It is neither a mercedes nor a porsche ..........if you know what i mean (if you dont, go ask your third grade teacher.

I am amazed that someone who filled their first email with speculation and opinions about a future market can then be quoted as stating they speak the truth. You have done nothing but spew your (most likely) unqualified opinion and provided no basis for your "facts". At least others have provided responses with some references to the high resale value of the car and demonstrations of what the realistic price is for the type of car your looking for.

It appears you came here looking for nothing more that an argument (at a minimum). I would recommend moving on!

I honestly think Eric rowland and a few others are among the few intelligent people on this board .Bottomline is cars are a depreciating asset and that was my point from the beginning ......, but for some reason i think some of you 'chumps' probably wanted me to praise the mini as some 'God sent' machine ( i do agree that it is enjoying what we call 'prestige pricing ' at the moment, but that bubble will burst soon). At the end of the day , it is a mass produced vehicle just like a lot of other vehicle models ., so its gonna depreciate . "Get that in your thick Skulls '. I bet most of you guys also have Big heads filled with air ( ha ha ), cos you cant seem to get what i said.It is not rocket science ok.

Since you are so astute, I'm sure you noticed that the "rating" that you place so highly in your personal domain of importance, is a user rating, which means practically nothing in any real world sense. The article is not the basis of an argument, the basis of the argument is the fact that the MINI does have a high resale value, as I'm sure you've found out, being so intelligent as you are. MINI's are, for the most part, a high quality performance vehicle. They do a lot of things very well, and as the history of automotive sales go, cars that do thing well sell for more than those that don't.

I'm also happy to know that you can distinguish between a BMW/MINI, Mercedes, and a Porsche. It's obvious you can read pictures good. Third grade was good for you.

It's unlikely that you are going to get any help from here if you continue to insult us this way. It's a gross overstatement to say we are all big vehicle loving gas chugging Americans who love to buy SUV's and trucks. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's never owned a so-called big vehicle. A great many of us didn't buy the car so we could sell it at a high price down the road, and we don't care that it depreciates. We bought it to enjoy it, which we do. So try to be a little more open to the fact that people are not the small, misinformed picture you have in your underworked brain.

Now, since you are so definately more intelligent than any of us, and soon we will all be dying to sell our beloved MINI's to you, you can go do a search all by your lonesome, chump.
