2005 Cooper S 17,500 miles (IL)
off the market: 2005 Cooper S low miles (IL)
I've decided to take it off the market. I'll just dig a latrine in the backyard and skip the sewer pipe repair.
It's a great car, but it's going down in the name of home repair. Just got the quote for digging up and replacing the sewer pipe at my house. Guess it's house before toys.

Any questions? Please post a reply and I'll tell you anything you want to know.
If you don't want the car, please post telling me why so I can make changes to the ad, price, or car. I'm not above adding mods to sell it. Whatever it takes!
Thanks,

No offense but so much for resale value eh?

I think Mini1966 is right. I think the Mini bubble has burst. It's working nicely for me because I don't want to get rid of the car. However, the truth of the matter is that I NEED to get rid of the car. Hopefully, we'll get some nice weather here soon and all the rich folks will come out looking for graduation gifts for their sweet darlings.
If your car was Silver, Dark Silver with the Panoramic roof....I would consider it. I'm trying to avoid bright colors(or white wheels) and pull-me-over Red. I dont like to stand out, but I do like well taken care of cars with low miles. Like I said if you were closer so I could see it in person, then I might have been swayed. I got 6 months to look for and buy a MINI, thats when my lease ends on the Jeep(Gas Guzzler!).
Okay so you're saying a blow torch and some paint and we got a deal? I should be able to figure out how to install a sunroof in six months.
The irony here is that had I ordered my dream Mini, it was going to be dark grey with a sunroof. I know what you mean about standing out. I was thinking of getting vanity plates of "Cop B8" or "Spd Tckt". Not only have the cop sightings dramatically increased since purchase, but they're moving the ENTIRE POLICE STATION to be two block from my work!
Well if you find yourself vacationing in Chicago, keep me in mind.

Here's a pricing comparison to consider. I just purchased from a local Metro NY Mini dealer a 2005 MCS with Premium, Sport, Cold, black panther leather, chrome line interior, Chili red/white roof, 26,000 miles and it's a Mini NEXT (certified) which is a $1500 and $2000 add on cost--I bought the car for $19,400. The car is practically flawless and they put two brand new Goodyear run flats up front. This vehicle was traded only two days before I nabbed it---I found it on the Mini USA web site. I keep repeating the following--KBB, Edmunds, and NADA are not reliable sources for trade in value or sales price--they are very inflated. Galves is the 'bible' for the auto industry (at least here in the East)--it reflects the current wholesale market price for each car. This is what a dealer will pay for your vehicle (if you are lucky)--from there you tack on a realistic markup. Hope this helps.
I'm just really happy to be back in an R53, and a beauty at that. The detour I took back in '06 (I sold my '05 MCS for a Cayman S) was not as fun or rewarding as I had hoped. And I will not miss the outrageous $300+ Porsche oil/filter and minor service charges!!
