FS: Dragonflyer VTEC classic Mini (CO)

Unfortunately, due to an unplanned move (long story related to open enrollment for public middle schools here in Colorado) to a new house that doesn't have as much garage space as our current home, I need to find a new home for Dragonflyer. (As small as it is it still won't fit in our new house's garage )

As many of you may know MiniTec did a ground up restoration on a shell from New Zealand, engine swap, and build while Mike Syfritt of Aesthetic Creations did most of the finish work.

This Mini has been fitted with:
+ Electric Widows
+ Keyless entry
+ Cruise Control
+ Electric Canvas Sunroof
+ Kenwood CD deck w/ Ipod/AUX interface,
+ 6" Sony Explodes in custom speaker pods in the door
+ 6x9" Sony explodes in the rear
+ Sony 600 watt Amp in the boot,
+ 8.2 gallon gas tank
+ Carbon Fiber fender flares
+ Tilt front end with custom carbon fiber inlays in the paint
+ Carbon/Red Kevlar dash

Known issues:
- power window actuators are slow. The units are very small so they are slow.
- A/C compressor and condensor have been removed but all A/C parts (except dryer) are on hand. If A/C is desired these items would need to be reinstalled by buyer.
- Cruise control is installed but according to Mike it has never worked. I've never tried it as its too much fun to drive as it is.
- Sony amp has been disconnected due to power drain when parked. Can easily be reconnected.

Some pictures of Dragonflyer that Mike had posted earlier.

I'm now asking $29,750 since our move is coming up quickly.

Thanks for looking and let me know if you are interested.

Bumping for attention I have some flexibility on price and financing so if you have an interest let me know. Also, I might be open to a trade/partial trade if I can make it my primary daily driver. A new Clubman or Land Rover Defender 110 would be ideal

Poor Mark. You should have been checking out www.d-90.com last week. I just sold my D-90 for a steal if you could have settled for a 2 door.

I've been involved in the Defender community since almost day 1, and I don't think I have ever seen a worthwhile 1993 North American Spec D-110 sell for less than the original sticker price of $40k.

You can pick up imported RHD 110's from the 1980's for a lot less, but you'd better know what you are getting into. The guy that bought my D-90 already has one and knows that if you want a reliable Defender that is ready to go all the time, you had better buy two of them. . . LOL

You might want to consider what I just bought to replace my Defender, a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Chrysler is now offering a lifetime powertrain warranty and you can get some nutty deals out there with our economy as it is. You'll get the 4 doors you want, a factory built solid 4x4 with the off-road goodies, and that warranty that makes me want to thrash the hell out of it with cheap low octane gas and dino oil. Plus the price will be less than what you are asking for your Mini. . . .

I thought you sold your D-90 years ago While I would like a 110 I know they are really expensive and, to make it more difficult, I would want it restored with diesel. As soon as Jeep offers a diesel in the Unlimited Rubicon that is the direction I'll likely go. Most of the year I want to be roaming around the mining roads up in the mountains so I'd like to have something I can do that with and still get decent mileage around town. I'd also like something that I can do some towing with when needed. If only they would hurry up and get a diesel to market.

the one they had at SEMA '06....if they'd build it, I'd buy. Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with body color fenders and hardtop, MB BlueTec V6 (diesel). Silver with brown leather inside...gorgeous.

I looked at a D90 years back as I had always wanted one. For the same money a rusted '94 model cost, I bought a brand new '02 Wrangler. Every bit as capable, more reliable and more creature comforts, but not quite as cool.

I hear the diesel is coming next year, but I couldn't wait.

You've checked out the amazing work of East Coast Rover? They'll convert any Defender into any other version and do any kind of engine conversion you want. Only problem is that you'll need to fill the interior of your donor vehicle to the roof with hundred dollar bills before they'll start working on it.

The diesel conversion was always my dream, but I have a need for a reliable off-road vehicle and just can't afford the $$$ and time it takes to keep a Defender running anymore.

I know my new Wrangler is no Defender, but it is encouraging that their top of the line Rubicon now meets my bare minimum specs for an off-road vehicle.

not to take this any more OT, but my '02 TJ with offroad package had more capability than I had huevos to try. My wife and I....our first 'date' was picking her up and running the local Land Rover club trail at Edinburg Gap, VA (the jeep was three weeks old and I had never offroaded but I didn't tell her that ).

My kids legs aren't getting any shorter so a Cooper won't really work for me at this point. A clubman probably though

So, I'm sure you could do the Clubman conversion on my car once we trade?

(sigh)...

I heard from Mike that you might be selling this, Mark, and I KNEW it would be on the high-side... But $32k is, alas, beyond my reach.

But...

Keep me on your list if you have any movement on the price. I'd have to sell Fiona of course, if I went this way, but at least I'd be selling one red car to end up with another.

Best of luck to you! :: He said with a forced smile through gritted teeth :::...

Given that our move is quickly approaching and I don't want the car to be sitting outside I've lowered the asking price to $29,750. PM me if you are interested

Now that fuel is getting so expensive 35MPG is looking pretty good!
