FS: 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP #1066

Year/Make/Model: 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan

Price: $29,000!

Mileage: ~16,600
-------------

Here is a basic overview of the car. I am borrowing these facts from www.jcwgp.com
"The MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit was first presented to the public during MINI United held in Misano, Italy on October 28th, 2005 and made its official release at the Geneva Auto Show on February 28th, 2006. Here is what makes this MINI so special…..

Hand-built by Bertone, Italy as a limited production run of 2000 worlwide (415 for US).
Modification to the intercooler as well as engine tuning measures have boosted the power output of the 1.6 litre supercharged engine to 218 bhp and 180 ft-lbs of torque allowing it to achieve 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds and an impressive top speed of 146mph.
Thoroughly revised aerodynamics front and rear aprons, rear spoiler, lowered side sills and underbody panelling help achieve significant reduced drag coefficient of 0.348, roughly 10 per cent improvement over the Cooper S.
Exclusive Thunder Blue body colour combined with Pure Silver Roof and Chilli Red exterior mirrors.
Exclusive 18? Light Alloy Wheels
Exclusive Antracite speedometer and rev counter dials
Enhanced JCW Braking and JCW Suspension.
First production two-seater MINI.
Weight savings achieved by removing the rear seats, reduced sound-deadening, deleting the rear wash-wipe, substituting rear aluminium control arms reduce the overall weight resulted in a weight saving of around ~40 kg over a Cooper S."

Here are some photo's of the car, courtesy of my friends at Motiv Photo, and my friend Alex.

The Good:
- The car is extremely reliable and has served as my daily driver since delivery on December 1st 2006.
- The car will come with brand new tires.
The Bad:
- There is a crack in the front fascia from where the vehicle was hit in a shopping mall parking lot. I will try and get some photo's of the damage up tomorow.
- The passenger fog light has popped out of its clip, it is still intact, it just needs to popped back into place and the bulb replaced. The turn signal portion still works.
- I feel my price reflects the damage listed above.
- You can kind of see the damage in the last picture.
I hate to sell the car as it has been a true pleasure to own, but unfortunately I have hit a rough spot in life and am forced to do so. Thank you for your interest.

Hey n00b stay out of this thread if you're not interested in this car. He doesn't have time for people like you complaining that the price is too high. Don't like it? Keep moving along.

Bump for a good guy.

Posting a price for a car when you have no intention of buying or bargaining for it is just lack of taste, If your aim is to be helpful to the seller, why not just send the guy a private message? As for potential buyers I'm sure we are all adults here and know how to use the search function or negotiate a deal if we are really serious about buying.

It's a little deeper than that... there has been more than a few... umm... discussions... regarding prices of the cars being posted recently... especially GP's... Tempers flared... nerves frayed... a mod-intervention or two... thus "peanut gallery" comments about pricing is a bit frowned upon... that's all...

Good luck with the GP... love those cars... perfect MCS for me... hate being poor...

Sorry bro, but nothing's free. The cost of posting for no cash on NAM is being subjected to comments from NAMmers. If you want no input, AutoTrader or ebay is the way to go.
Good luck with the sale! (Nice pics, by the way!)

That's a steal for a GP considering that there are only 415 in the states. I hope to get my hands on one after I graduate if you were selling this a year from now I'd totaly write you a check for $29,000.

I wish I had the cash....

and one other point. Cars that already sold have nothing to do with pricing for cars that are about to be sold. After all, the car is gone and can't be bought for that price anymore!

Matt

Good luck with the sale. If I find a briefcase of cash, I'll give you a call pronto!

Hey at least this one is available. Supply and demand buddy.....If you can find one cheaper, then buy it. If not, you either pay the price for this one or take a chance and wait to see what else comes up.
To make a long story short.....just let the guy sell his car in peace. Anyone with $25,000-$30,000 to buy a car is big enough to do his/her homework. Besides, I think we'll all agree that a GP is a WANT and not a NEED. People decide for themselves just how badly they WANT something and will pay whatever they think is appropriate for that "want".

For that many $$ and that many miles and no rear seat, I'd have to go with the used Boxster.

Boxster! Eww! This is a piece of Mini History that will gain value with Age. Lets see a Boxster do that. I see them listed on local lots around here for 20-26k. IMHO, The GP is a lot more appealing than the Boxster. That being said....Bump!

I'd have to agree. If u did that you'd be like my buddy that's DYING to get out of his boxter lease after just 1 year. Of all the cars I have here the GP has the most character and is just as fun to drive as any of the cars u see below. I dont know if I'd be able to say the same for the boxter.

His son now has a Mini, and he keeps taking the keys. The Boxter wasn't an S, it has better balance, but overall, it's just not as fun a car to drive most of the time.

And while I like our Minis, I'm not a defend it to the death kind of guy.
