It is a very nice car - but how was it so expensive initially? I have a hard time figuring out how to build a car that costs so much. Did you have to pay over list?

And I can't imagine CarMax coming close to $35k - so if OBO is a few bills lower...

Nope, CarMax didn't even come close. Try building that one online and you'll get pretty darn close. When you add the LoJack, Windshield insurance and the PermaPlate, that finishes it off.

How is the ride with the 18s? I've never seen them before. That size tire on a smaller car can sometimes ride rough. (And which brand tires are on it?)

I'm somewhat a novice re the JCW package - I see you mention the factory-installed package, but you also mention this:

John Cooper Works Tuning Kit:

JCW Engine Tuning Kit
JCW Brake Kit

Is that in addition to the factory-installed JCW option? What do they add? I thought some JCW Brakes enhancements came with the factory package?

And can you say a bit more about the Windshield Insurance, Invisishield, and PermaPlate? Not sure what they "do".

How do you find the Nav system? I've never encountered one "live", so don't know how responsive it is.

That MINI is stunning...and I have no problem believing the initial price, or the current asking price. Based on what I paid for mine, those numbers are right on the mark for that MINI.

G/L with the sale. Someone is going to get a heck of a nice MINI.

MINI Nav is great - I love mine. Inputing addresses can be a bit tedious with the one button, and the POI interface can be frustrating, but overall it's very nice.

If it's the same MINI, and it looks like it, it ended up with a very happy member of PDX MINI here in Portland. (Flew down to Houston to buy it and drive it back.

It's part of a 2 MINI family now :-)

Bleh...this is EXACTLY what I wanted the first time I went looking at MINI's...just didn't want to drop that kind of cash right then. I love Ruska, but I wish she came in PH
