Road Trip!! Motd5 - May 2007!

MOTD4 is over.
AMVIV III is over.
MITM is over.
MTTS has been thru here and is almost over.

What to do?

Begin planning the MOTHER of all ROAD TRIPS!! Yes, that means MOTD5 in May, 2007!

Yes, the friendly folks at MINI5280 will, for the 3rd year running, make the cross-country trek to MOTD5. Wanna join? Get a load of this:
  • We are leaving earlier this year
  • We are driving farther this year
  • We are driving faster this year
  • We are not taking any Interstates on the way down this year
  • We are staying in the same cabin this year
  • We are making a food festival out of it this year
Any questions? Innarested in joining? If so, POST here....everyone is welcome. Our ROUTE will be announced in this thread as it builds. But suffice it to say that it will not be traditional.

Stay tuned!

Jonathan

Jim, if you are in then

Leg 1, Denver to Minden may just come your way. If that is the case, then YOU have the following responsibility:
  • Find us a way-out-of-the-way place to eat when we get there, or near there
  • Such as the kind of place you would find in www.RoadFood.com
  • Arrange for our arrival and departure
  • We will take pictures and document the event
And then we are on to the next leg, somewhere else. Keep in mind that we CANNOT drive on an Interstate Highway all the way down to the Dragon, unless there is no other way.

BTW, we DO have to make a stop in KC...for some mandatory BBQ at Arthur Bryant's....18th and Brooklyn.

This should be really fun for you all. Plan plenty of extra time for your road trip.

I just crossed the state of TN yesterday on an English car drive, all back roads, and man did they mean it. About half the time there was no center line painted on the road. It was great fun, 470 miles and 14 hours from Newfound Gap in the Smokies to the Mississippi River.

Here is one Jonathan,
This one would be on the direction of travel for all the NE/CO/KS People to meet up. Granted it is on I-70 but you guys could shoot off I-70 at Colby and travel 24 to state 18 down to Salina area then back on I-70 to Abaline. Of course I would travel back roads all the way.
Here is the link to The Brookville Hotel. Looks like a great photo op. They have a English phone booth out front. At least that's what it looks like by the picture.

Zyamfier -- Great sig! Love the reflection of the boot on the teardrop! Sounds like the trip to MOTD '07 is already shaping up to be a fun one!

Hey, going to post a link in the CORN forum to this thread so we can get some of the new Nebraska members in here. I had many questions about the Dragon when I was in Omaha last week.

Do you really think you are going to have time to ride and drive at the dragon? Oh duh, I forgot you are all knowing and all powerful.

Wouldn't that be sick? Although, I'd remember to bring both out there... ...then forget the underwear at home

I see a new thread happening

" Find Siobhan a Trailer" - Rent or Borrow (maybe trade for tires)

I think it can be done. We can find you a trailer. What will you pull with?

I have thought the same thing, at AMVIV next spring. Pull with my wife's truck, trailer the MINI, carry the new track wheels and tyres and tools...

You're crazy Jonathan!

I've got the Dodge and MAY have access to a flat bed by then. I'm on a "mission from Gad" = Blues Bothers.
