They open at 9:00 AM so if we meet on the north side of highway 72 near the intersection of highway 93 at 8:30 AM we can motor up Coal Creek Canyon to the Café (Meet-up Map).

Then afterward we can do some Peak to Peak driving and motor to Lyons and down Foothills thru Boulder to where we started (Digestive Map).

If it were on the 20th, afterwards we could drive up to Frisco for the BBQ challenge!

Believe me when I say I tried to find another weekend, alas they are all spoken for except the last weekend which is too late. We'll scope it out and if it is something we want to try again we'll do so. Could be July at WonderVu too or another mountainside eatery.

We stopped there for dinner on the Twisty ride last year.

 

on the way home? The Wild West Auto Roundup will be going on....200 cars and trucks, free to the public.

I spent a few hours in Golden yesterday enjoying the classic cars coming and going (1st Saturday of each month) and it was quite fun.

Just a thought for those who might enjoy cars other than the MINI...

Sounds like we're still on so count me in (especially since the restaurant is in my back yard)!

 

Y'all might want to consider meeting a bit up Highway 72 on Blue Mountain Dr (see map). There is a dirt lot on the SE corner of 72 and 93 but getting a bunch of MINIs out in traffic can be touchy since it's so busy there and you're making a quick left turn. The Blue Mountain Dr is paved and is an easy-out to Rt 72, then on up the canyon to WonderVu Cafe.

I'll look for a suitable pullover spot on 72 so just keep driving up the canyon until you see me. I think there is a paved driveway not too far up.
As for Golden - I might just have to stop (hard to pass up a car show).
