MINI5280 Breakfast Meeting & Group Clean - May 9th

So to mix it up a bit and to enhance efficiency and thereby help the environment lets couple two club activities in to one mega day of fun!

First breakfast -
8:30AM Saturday May 9th
Old Santa Fe Restaurant
994 W Dillon Rd
Lafayette, CO 80027

This is where we started Yalla Yalla last year. We'll chow down on some breakfast type food as a group to promote interpersonal relationships and build team spirit and camaraderie.

Then group clean -
10:00 AM Saturday May 9th

The group clean will consist of some hoses, buckets and Mystique for washing. Bring your own mitt (sponges are strictly forbidden).
Then we can do some clay to get our paint baby-butt smooth and follow that up with some Banana Gloss for that aren't you jealous shine. If you're into it bring a PCDA and polish. Don't know what a PCDA is? Then you're not into it.

You bring the mitt, some towels and sun screen and maybe a bucket or two if you got them.
We'll supply some tunes, Mystique, clay and the Banana Gloss.

Oh and by the way - you have to come to the breakfast meeting to find out where the group clean is happening.

Sign-up on the calendar here: Clean Breakfast Group Meeting

Should be fun, replaces our lamented Cinos Coffee on Saturdays.

OSF opens for breakfast at 8AM for those who want to get started early.

My MINI needs to see some clay.

You can't have food in the MINI!

for someone as non car *or mechanically* inclined as me, where does one get a "mitt"

Sponges are harbingers of swirls and swirls are the bringers of dull and no MINI should be dull.
Lambs wool mitts will trap dirt and release it when rinsed. We will be using the two-bucket method: a rinse bucket and a soap bucket. Using the two-bucket four-step - soap your mitt, clean your MINI, rinse your mitt, wring your mitt and repeat - we shall endeavor to do no harm to a MINI's paint.
You can find lambs wool wash mitts at Detailers Paradise or any number of autoparts stores. We want the all natural lambs wool not the synthetic models.
A good mitt will last a couple of years but must never touch the ground or it will turn back into a lamb and run away.

I will bring 3 wool mitts (DPs best) and a super MF mitt with which I was inspired to use. It is a pretty good mitt.

I plan on bringing at least 4 buckets.

Breakfast should be excellent and it should be warmer by 10:15 or so.

Your request has been granted. (only because it was made on official MINI5280 email stationary!)

We'll all be there... yes, it'll be a Detailers Paradise family outing, including Nick, Paia and I. All 3 of us can help answer questions, although Nick and I can't be held responsible for what Paia tells you. She's still learning the DP and detailing ropes! Not to mention, she often strays to other topics such as pureed sweet potatoes and playing with her feet.

We will be bringing a limited supply of Prima Banana Gloss wax and Prima Hydro spray wax for purchase at the event- CASH ONLY. Both will be priced at special discounted prices: Banana Gloss will be just $15! (normally $18.95) Hydro will be just $10! (normally $12.95) A little gift from us to you.

We'll make it easy for anyone who is interested to place an online order for any other DP products and tools for free pickup at the event, just as we do for MINIs in the Mountains. Instructions for doing so are below.

In summary, here are the key points of this post:
  • Nick, Paia and I will be at the Group Clean to help answer your detailing and car care questions.
  • We will be selling a limited number of Banana Gloss (sale priced at just $15!) and Hydro (sale priced at just $10!) on-site at the Group Clean FOR CASH ONLY.
  • You may also order anything from our website online for free pickup at the Group Clean. To waive online shipping charges, please see below for important ordering instructions.
To place an online order for FREE pickup (read: no shipping charges!) at the Group Clean on Saturday, May 9th:
  1. You must order no later than Friday, May 8th at Noon (MST) in order to participate in this Group Clean order pickup.
  2. Order online normally (www.DetailersParadise.com) until you reach the final stage of checkout. THEN....
  3. Enter the following code in the "Coupon Code" field in order to 1) identify your order as one to be picked up at the Group Clean, and 2) waive any shipping charges. Coupon Code = MINIGC
Your order will be neatly packaged for you to pickup at the event! Please email or PM me if you have any questions about this process.

We look very forward to seeing you on Saturday!!

-Heather

Thanks Heather, Nick and Paia. You have just moved ahead of Squaw Pass on the all-time MINI5280 favorites list.

Sketchy just happens to describe me to the letter.
However since I am the duly elected official here and keeper of the MINI5280 All-Time Favorites List, what I say goes. If you don't like it I'll take my list and go home.

No need to do that Chuck, we like the list just where it is.

What I came here to say it that as much as I'd love to stop by... and as much as my car needs the attention (boy does she ever)... I can't be making this event. I'll be working an estate sale and be unavailable all darn day.

Please have fun and get those Minis (and MINIs if they're coming) shiny and beautiful. If you happen to move the event to Morrison and will detail my car while I work, let me know. You know... just in case it should happen.

I parked my clean MINI at DIA today (SE covered parking level 2 row K) so I'm sure it will need a good bath come Saturday. By the way, my MINI accepts waves even when I'm not in it. I waved at the other two MINIs I saw parked there.

I will need a little help with that blem on my bonnet, I have MINI touchup in DS and clear.

Or should I enjoy with a nice wash, clay and banana gloss?

Remember to bring chairs and a bucket. It will be a bucket washing situation, shared hose/water from what I have heard.

I cracked up and shook my head when I read that... then I remembered waving at unmanned, parked MINIs myself!

No just showers and though I'm President I can't do much except sack the latest bunch of weathermen - we're going through them like a MINI on curves.
Now keep in mind the Zen philosophy of detailing: it does not matter how long a detailed car remains clean, only that at one point in time it was clean.
