2009 MINI Cooper Convertible Roll-Out Party 4/25/09

I don't have all the details yet but keep Saturday April 25th open for a roll-out party for the new '09 Convertible at Ralph Schomp. I bet they offer a two-for-one special or at least have some cool swag.
So watch this thread and the calendar for more details.

If the weather is nice, I'll be there at Schomp.

One thing I don't understand is how they can roll it out, when they've already got it in the showroom and available for test drives. I sat in a new PW convertible just yesterday and have to admit that with the exception of the open-o-meter or whatever its called, it's all pretty familiar.

You get me a convertible clubman and we've got a deal. I might need me one of those.

In any event I'll endeavor to be at the release party.

The new 09 convertible also has a "G Meter" to measure cornering forces as an option.

... and the roll-bars, bigger rear window and turbo!
I never look a gift horse (roll-out party) in the mouth.

Maybe they should call this a topless party.

Is this still happening? Early/Late?

I'm thinking to drive down, if so.

Schomp has indicated to me that they would love to have MINI5280 at the party.
So meet up at Ralph Schomp MINI between 11:30 and 12:00. Watch the Vegas showgirls, splendor at the worlds largest Fig Newton, applaud when the Blue Angles fly-over, weep during Ronnie Millsap's touching rendition of God Bless America and enjoy the only convertible fit enough to wear the MINI name.

As I mentioned earlier I will be working on a house tomorrow during Rebuild Denver so can not make this event. Please, please, please somebody take some pictures and if you write-up something for the newsletter I'll give you a bottle of Mystique Car Shampoo from Detailers Paradise.
Any volunteers?

Consider it covered. Patty and I will be down looking for a new 09 CR Cabrio

Just looking, but I will bring the checkbook.

I'll take lots of photos. If someone wants to do some creative writing, I'd be glad to provide photos.

Event pictures

I really hate a double post.

Pictures @ my picasa.

Nice event, good food and what a fun little drive. Could have been a better weather day.

Motoring with the top down, heater on full and seats toasty made for a great ride. Patty loved the new Cabrio.

I did make an appointment in May to get the 2 year service done on Scooter.

So great pictures everyone. Thanks for capturing the moment.
Now first to email me a story for the newsletter gets the bottle of Mystique. Send it without grammar or spelling errors and you get the contents of the bottle as well.

I think I will stick with taking pictures, to many fast writers in MINI5280.

Nice newsletter. Everyone wrote great articles.

Rick, nicely done on the pictures and montage for the Roll-Out Party.

Fun car to drive, Patty enjoyed it very much. (Have to tell myself to stay away from the configurator).

Thanks

You're welcome Don. I wanted to do something a bit different with the photos than just publish them the way they're shot. The effects are actually fairly easy to do in Photoshop Elements. Yea, this month's MINI5280 newsletter is one of the best, IMHO.
