Great Denver Area Car Shops?
Great Denver Area Car Shops?
Greetings Everyone,
I live in Boulder and recently received a new Clubman S. Of course, it is hard to surf around the NAM site and not start to think about all of the possible mods that are out there. For now, I am going to get to know my car for awhile (at least a year) before making any substantial changes, but I am planning on new summer wheels and tires for some time around late April.
So here is the question. Where are the best shops in the Denver / Boulder area? I am talking about all different types of specialties... wheels/tires, suspension, exhaust, audio, ANYTHING.
WHERE HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED GREAT SERVICE, AND REAL CAR PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT THEIR WORK?
I'm looking forward to seeing your responses! Let's give the good guys their proper due, and it will greatly help folks like me who are just getting started. Thanks!

I'll lay-down $20 it will be less then a year before your first mod. Wanna bet?
There are some good shops in the Denver area. First and foremost I would have to say that Ralph Schomp is a great place to start. They will take care of all your MINI related items and will even install aftermarket items. I have found their work top-notch.
Also there is Randy Webb who is still doing MINI work. Randy has probably unmatched experience with the MINI.
There is also a shop in Loveland called SCR Performance. These guys will do everything from oil change to engine rebuilds and performance software.
I am always interested in other's experiences so I will watch this thread.
Now, join MINI5280 so we can get to know you and your new Clubman.

Planning your future performance Mods....
Take a look at NAM vendor, Defenders of Speed (DoS). Clint w/ DoS has some new products for the R56 Mini that you might consider before buying other vendor Mods that could short-sheet your options later on.
Thanks for the comments guys... very helpful.
I have already been all over the detailing side of things... Detailers Paradise and Octane Guy have received orders from me over the past month. I haven't been able to do too much due to the cold weather, but I did get to clay and Epic the car a few days after receiving it.
Sorry, I won't be taking that $20 bet... What was I thinking writing that I would wait for a year?! I can barely wait 10 more minutes. With that in mind, I just traded emails with Doug Whalen and ordered up a new shift ****.
Also, I joined 5280 about 6 weeks ago, and I will hopefully see you all soon at an upcoming meeting.

Just wanted to say welcome from a fellow Boulderite and new MINI owner!
Always good to find out about shops, so I figured I'd sign on to this thread to keep apprised of the important info.

I'm going to second the AB/AB combo Wandrur. Don't let anyone talk you into de-chroming or blackout kits because chrome on a black car is sweet.
All real Americans love chrome!
Our next club meeting is Tuesday January 13th at 7:00 PM (place yet to be determined but it won't be on a beach in Mexico). Hope to see you both there.
