MINI5280 Raffle - Snow Tires

We are pleased to announce a contest to win a set of snow tires (you know you'll need them).
MINI5280 will sell raffle tickets for a chance to win -
Four (4) 15x6 4-100 Steel Wheels (black) and a $300 DiscountTires Gift Certificate

Each ticket will cost $5.00 and all proceeds will be donated to Children's Hospital.
Drawing for this package will occur in front of Children's Hospital off Colfax (see this thread: www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157739) at 12:00 PM on December 21st.
You need not be present to win but we won't ship the prize and it would give you an opportunity to collect some toys for the kids in the hospital.

For now, the only way to buy tickets is at the next MINI5280 meeting (7:00 PM 12/9 at Pints Pub - announcement soon), or in front of the hospital just before the drawing.
So come to the meeting and gather some toys and come on the Children's Hospital Charity Run!

You can now buy your raffle tickets via PayPal ($5 per chance) at the MINI5280 website: www.MINI5280.org (Charity page). Note that online tickets will only be sold until the night before the raffle (10:00 PM 12/20/08) to allow time to deposit physical tickets in the raffle bin for PayPal chances purchased.

A good deal, so I have to buy a R50 or 53 so I can use these wheels or can I just go for the snow tires?

You keep the wheels!

You will see a paypal from Mrs. old81.

You can always have the lug holes drilled out - that's pretty cheap to do.
Once you win the prize you can always donate all or part of it back to the club.

Wheel pictures in MINI5280 web

I finally washed the brake dust off the wheels and posted photos of them on the MINI5280 website (click here). You should note that these are used steel wheels, in excellent condition. This summer they were kindly donated to MINI5280 by Bridget, an early and active club member. The wheels came from Bridget's 2003 MINI Cooper S (R53). Bridget, sadly, lost her MINI due a traffic accident a few years ago. It was not her fault and she was unhurt. As the wheel label states, the size is: "15x6 4-100/4.50". Also note that MINI5280 will not ship the wheels to the winner. You need not be present to win (but it will be more fun if you are). You can buy your raffle ticket via PayPal or in person. Good luck!

We got some down here, not too much.

Chuck, all, any thought of this raffle being open to all of NAM? It may
already be, some may think it's only for 5280. Discount Tire is nation
wide (I think) and out of state winner could pay shipping for the wheels.
Just a thought.

We can put that on the agenda for the December meeting. I have no problem with it other than it was a MINI5280 member that donated the wheels so I thought a MINI5280 member should benefit. I'll leave that to a vote at the next meeting.

After yesterday's snow - who's thinking snow tires? So what's a better deal - snow tires and wheels for $450 or snow tires and wheels for $5?
(new math not required)

1 in 24

As of right now, if you were to buy one raffle ticket to win these wheels and tire gift certificate, you'd have a 1 in 24 chance winning! To date, only 23 tickets have been sold to 7 individuals. Pretty good odds for a $5 chance. Full information and photos at http://www.mini5280.org/html/charity.html . Less than 3 weeks left to get on this deal.

I have five more tickets sold to one person (not me).
Buy one for the hospital kids, buy one for your MINI, buy one for yourself and buy one the guy driving next to you on snowy streets. What's $20 with the odds so good?

I have a quick question. When you order raffle tickets via paypal does Rick or Chuck mailout the tickets to our home?

Or are they going to be held until the day of drawing?

Thanks,
Don

Rick will put your name on a raffle ticket and it will go into the pot with all the others. Remember that you need not be present to win so this is how we will know to whom the lucky ticket belongs.

Remember that next week at Children's Hospital we will be having the drawing for the set of 15" steel wheels and a $300 Discount Tire gift certificate. What will $300 get me you might ask - how about these:

So get your raffle tickets from our website:
