Track Day @ CSP Golden 10/19 or 10/25

We have had an official invite to participate in an open track day to be held at the Colorado State Patrol track in Golden. Two days to pick from, either Sunday October 19th or Saturday October 25th. The organizer has indicated the the 25th is currently less full so he feels it would be the best choice.
The details are as follows:
Must be 18
Car in good condition (no leaks, good tires & brakes)
Helmet, long pants, socks & comfortable shoes
Vehicle insurance (except race cars)
Waiver form read & signed
No drugs or alcohol at any time

Open Track 9AM - 4PM cost is $150
1/2 day training session $400
Full day training session $700

This is being organized by Go4it Racing School (www.go4itservices.com/)
Contact me at info@MINI5280.org if you want a registration form. I will bring some to the club meeting tonight.
CSP Track Layout:

> From I-70, exit on Colfax Avenue. Go east to Indiana. Turn north on Indiana one block to South Golden Road. Turn west on South Golden Road to Quaker Street. North on Quaker about 1/4 mile and follow the dirt road up the hill.
> From 6th Avenue, turn north on Indiana and go one block to South Golden Road. Turn west on South Golden Road to Quaker Street. North on Quaker about 1/4 mile and follow the dirt road up the hill.

Cost?

Why does half day cost more than a full day? Are you giving hints again for the Yalla yalla?

One of the Go4It guys

just got back from Topeka SCCA Runoffs where he finished 2nd in at least 1 class, T2, in his Pontiac GXP. May also have been racing other makes.

I guess they know how to go fast.

I wish they would do this at Pueblo. This "track" just dosent do it for me.

On a more positive not if you have never done a instructed track day, do it! Its incredibly fun and you learn a lot about your car and your driving.

Anybody?

I am possibly signing up for the Oct 25th session, but I won't know until a bit later. I can't make this Sunday's (Oct 19th) session. Is anybody else doing this? If so, when. Would be more fun to participate with fellow MINI drivers. I'll watch the MINI5280 Event Calender too.

I am very interested but the next 2 weekends just wont work for me.

The w/ Instructor price of $400 half day & $700 full day seems a bit steep.

Hallet Raceway an hour West of Tulsa, OK. had a half day w/ Instructor for $125. that my son Brian did September 27th.

The new track in Hastings, NE. had an all day fee of $325. w/ Instructor last April. I could be off on the $ but Jim from CORN did Hastings on his way to MOTD6.

Like Matt, Jim & Brian both said it was very beneficial.

Count me out.

Change of plans for me. I will not be able to attend any of the sessions, but I'd like to try it some other time.

I agree with you on the price. I did the BMW driving school for 175 at pueblo raceway (all day event). That included a very nice lunch and LOTS of driving (at a real track). The bmw event was very new guy friendly and the instructors were great too.
