Given the traffic going into Denver in the morning and the fact we have a long day of driving I think we should get an early start. I propose the following for June 5th:
Gas up the night before -
Leave at 6:30 AM from the old Detailers Paradise store 1745 S Broadway Denver, CO 80210 (Google Map)

Leave at 8:00 AM from south end of Albertsons parking lot 1636 N College Ave, Fort Collins, CO (Google Map) after gassing up.

It is about 9 hours (350 miles) from Ft Collins to Shoshoni with stops.

Quick bio stop in Walden (90 miles) and a stop in Rawlins for fuel and food at about 12:00 PM (110 miles but most are fast miles).

Just a quick 150 miles up the road we can meet our pals up north in Shoshoni at the Exxon gas station at 5:00 PM (Google Map)

If we stop and eat in Thermopolis (30 miles) this would put us in to Cody (85 miles) at about 9:00 PM for a total of 465 miles from Ft. Collins.

Long day but for the most part very open and scenic and there are places we can make up time if so inclined.

So check my math and propose any changes or recommendations to the plan.
I love it when a plan comes together.

It looks like I will be living in Bozeman this summer so I should be able to make this! Fantastic! I'd like to meet you guys at some point along your journey as you're going through the park if I may? I haven't read all the past posts but I'll take a peak and see if I can figure out when you're going to be in the park!

Super!!

This always happens in my dreams:
I got pulled from a cop with a radar gun pointing at me coming out of a curve...
Cop: where are you heading? do you know how fast you were going?
Me: hmmm officer...I was following the Jsouz's car to somehwere...
Cop: where is Jsouz's car?
Me: EXACTLY.... I am still trying to catch him..

Finally I will be able to follow someone without worrying about hitting his bumper.. .

I'm going to have to back out of this trip........I'm really bummed. Ironically, I'll be in Denver taking a class, while you are all enjoying Yellowstone.

Don't feel bad eeyore! I've got to cancel my Yellowstone trip as well. My mom is visiting during that time now and we are finishing our basement. I had to put on my big girl pants and make a few budget cuts. Sadly, Yellowstone was part of the stuff hitting the cutting room floor.

Hope everyone enjoys Yellowstone. I'll be thinking of you!

I understand budget and other commitments, I am canceling Yellowstone too.

Daughters wedding and to many other June obligations are messing with my quality MINI time.

I hope someone takes a lot of pictures, so I can kick myself after the fact.

Well I'm not dropping out. I'm in for keeps. I'm good to go. I'm so there.
Was it my scary starting time or the thought of 9 hours without a bio-break?
We will miss you all and I'm sure there will be some pictures.

We are still going..
Already asked for the time off.. there is nothing better than spending first few days of June in Wyoming and a caravan going there as well... as long as the weather is reasonable unlike what we had last week... it was an interesting snow storm. What does our replacement meteorologist have to say this time?

We are still in the interviewing process. I would not want to name a successor until all the candidates have been properly vetted.

There is a fairly high possibility that Jacob and I might be able to go. My company is going through contract renegotiations, so vacation time is pretty limited. But I might be able to get Friday and Monday off for this trip.

I briefly looked at hotels in Yellowstone and it appears that the Old Faithful Inn is booked. Does anyone have a suggestion of another hotel, inn, etc that would be close by? I think all the hotels in Old Faithful are either booked or too pricey, so I'm looking for the next best option.

Thank you,
Christine

P.S. Long time no talk :-)

Perhaps you can take over Kim's reservations in the cabins. Or perhaps one of the others that have had to cancel.
We'd love to have you both along, but who's driving?

Christine,

I have not canceled my Old Faithful Inn yet, perhaps you could take it over.

I was going to call on Monday and cancel, send me an email via NAM if your interested, perhaps it could work for you.

I also have 2 nights at the Yellowstone Hotel on the lake that are going to be available. Sunday and Monday nights.

MGTY designs on CafePress!

For MGTY, MINI5280's latest designs, courtesy of Teena, are now available on CafePress in the form of t-shirts (many styles and colors), hoodies, etc. Most styles have the MGTY buffalo on the front and the Yellowstone map with the 3 MINIs on the back. Click the various clothing examples and image zoom tools to get clear views of the product. Note that MINI5280's only markup is a flat $1.00 per item (the rest is production and shipping directly from CafePress).

Don - I've sent you an email via NAM and would love to utilize your room reservation at the Old Faithful Inn. Thank you so much.

We have also made reservations for Cody and Jackson Hole:
Friday - Big Bear Motel
Sunday - 49er Inn

Most likely we'll be bringing my car and will switch off driving throughout the trip. This will only be my second road trip with my car, the first being MITMs.

So glad that we'll be able to make this trip.

Christine

Good idea. Everybody that is going email me at mini.maybee@yahoo.com and tell me your email, phone and meeting location for the drive up on June 5th.
I will compile the list and distribute it to everyone before we go.
