MGTY2009 - MINIs Go To Yellowstone
I think that we will be staying with my wife's family in Powell on Friday night and meet up for breakfast on Saturday. I was thinking we can do a figure eight from the east side to the north then back to the south finishing at Old Faithful - should be about 200 miles. Sunday I was thinking we could head to the west shore of the lake and go to the mud pots et al before heading south out of the park to Jackson. This is where you would probably leave our group Don.
Camping!
We are planning on camping in the park as well. Should be fun... but this time we won't be cooking... too many things to carry (stoves, gas tank, chopboard and a huge cooler) and with limited space in MINI, just not a practical idea.
Clubman
Michael Suoo - Great American Outdoorsman!
Personally I'm done sleeping on the ground, but we may stop by and rattle your tent. Could be a bear or could be Maybee - guess wrong and you might be eaten.

Safety issues.....
Did I mention that I carry a hand gun for the situations like that
, after hearing enough stories about hikers got killed at Appalachian trails. I don't mind the bears visiting... it's the human beings that are scary.... You can't never be too careful out there...
No bathtub = camping
Camping for us is a room without a bathtub! We're staying in the Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone Nat'l Park on Sat (6/6). We didn't want to miss out on one of the most popular destinations in the park, so we made reservations today (same as Chuck's 11/27 post). We're staying in Cody on Friday and Jackson on Sunday.

So I just booked my Jackson hotel at:

Close to the square and certified mostly disease-free and nearly kid-friendly.
Here's a link if anyone is interested: 49er Hotel

Thx, it worked! But, the 49er only had suites left. So, we'll be next door at Cowboy Village, which are little individual cabins with kitchenettes, covered decks with bbq grills............guess the party will be at our place!
