WIP RMBMW-MINI Autox
WIP RMBMW-MINI Autox
Hi MINIists,
WIP (work in progress)
Since I had a change of plans due to RMVR racing not letting us work in La Junta, I took in a few hours of the the RMBMWCCA Autox at Coor's Field.
It was nice to meet and chat with a lot of MINI racers/owners and all the other BMWCCA folks.
A nice group of enthusiasts on a very HOT autox track.
All the MINI drivers were having fun with some co-driven cars with the wives/GFs Randy (93/193) and Kelly (68) were having a fun duel with their R56's. Kelly was respectable only giving up a 1/2 second on the best run.
Randy was driving with ballast on his best run, so Randy's 1/2 second faster was well earned. You should check the rmbwmcc web for results to see how the event turned out, some great MINI runs.
I would love to see these two guys compete on a cool day with near equal cars, Kelly gives up a little current suspension setup (stock is stock).
The upload is in progress, slow uploads this afternoon on C..Cast. I did get some picture sequences and all of the MINIs who participated on and off track.
Enjoy and look in the ususal place for the most current album.
It was fun meeting and talking with all the MINI folks.
Here is a little teaser, try the album in about 1 hour for all 140+ pictures.
Btw, some of those BMW's lift the right front in the short chicane.
The MINI's look much more controlled.

Jonathan, come back in about an hour. The upload is still in progress, sitting at 88% as of right now. People are bangin the net tonight, they all must have finished their Harry Potter books.

You really think it is ugly Jonathan? No taste at all

Thanks for the pics! It was nice meeting you as well. Vicky really liked seeing all of the shots (my wife). She would hav won her class, but missed a cone on here last run that actualy made it a longer course, but it DNF'ed her - not bad for her third autocross ever!
We are really happy with the results so far this year. I have won every event, and Kelly has finished second in each one -all with a class of 15+ cars at each event (M Roadsters, M Coupes, E36 hot rod M3s and E46 hot rod M3s as well as the new 335i and older hot rodded E36s).
The new car simply rocks - Kelly and I both are very happy with the car in stock form, and as we develop the car it just gets better. The new exhaust testing is going well too, as some of you got to hear.
Thanks again for the pics!

Registration is $45. The website has a very handy classification tool. Just click off mods on a list to add points up. I suspect you would be in BBS or BAS. Registration is now closed for #1 but you could come out and watch. Bring a helmet (2005 or newer) and you could get some rides.
