Did anyone that attended this event get a book called MINI Concept for the Future? It is a hardbound book about the MINI Concept that I thought was given away at the Monterey event, but I could be wrong. I wa sjust reading about the book on MF and thought I'd ask on this thread for the peeps that attended the event.

Yes.
The early delivery GP owners in Monterey were all given a copy.
I also got hold of a copy from a friendly person in England

Sandy, my co-worker here at the BMW MINI Design studio, had the original softcover version of the book with her at Monterey Historics. It was on the dash of her pure silver 06 MCS and I saw her showing some people what it was all about. She was the one with the Paul Smith mirror caps - the one and the same caps that were on the Tokyo show car which she helped design.

The cool thing about the book is that it was entirely Gert Hildebrand's idea and he funded the publishing of the first run of softcover books out of his own pocket because BMW execs couldn't be bothered. When everyone saw the final product it really took off and a making of type reality show was shot for German TV and aired primetime right when the Frankfurt Concept came out.

I'm still trying to get Mr Hildebrand to send me a copy of it but so far no luck... Guess I may have to resort to eBay like everyone else.

If you can understand the "translation" on MF, it sounds like you'll be able to buy the book soon ...

Well,
since the results are in (www.motoringfun.com and www.motoringfile.com), I think we should now give our thoughts on MTTS 2008.

I did 1 leg of MTTS in 2006 and I must say that the Tail Gate party (without cars) was a let down. The photo at the Arch was cool as was the Indy one lap.

I really hope that every one of the "events" is like a mini MINI United. MINI United is so cool that we here in the states want to go. Let's show everyone else that the US can be cool too.

More things to do in one location.

Area for clubs and groups to mingle.

Some track time, weather it be in your own MINI or in a demo race car with a professional driver.

An Autocross.

A "rave" like MINI United.
