I want to update the headunit of my MINI COOPER S CHILI 2018 (F56).

My radio is 6.5 ", it is NOT a touch screen, it has NO CARPLAY and it does not have GPS / Maps (photos attached).

I've been doing a bit of research on the subject. But I have some doubts:

If I only update the screen to 8.8 "(NOT touch), do I need to change the central unit or just code the one I have?

If I update the screen to 8.8 "(touch), I need to change my head unit, which one do I use?

If I want navigation, I need to change my head unit, which one do I use?

Yes I want carplay, what head unit do I use?

And finally, if I want the 8.8 "(touch) screen, navigation and Carplay, what head unit do I need?

You guys need to PM sb2002. Steve is a great guy and will sell you what you need for your cars. He helped me make my conversion from NBT to EVO and it was all Plug and play. Flawless, excellent service and a fair price.

stay away from others who you will see repeatedly offering the same service ... all I can say is scam artist ... bait and switch swindler!

was wondering if your touch 8.8 is still available? and if so (or not), do i need a new wiring harness? last time i looked for an aftermarket unit i was told i need a 900$ harness or something to make it all work

 

Eventually I'm gonna rip out all the factory stereo stuff on my 2011 R56. I wanna install a touch screen and a micro pc in the upper glove box. I will probably have to build a fiberglass upper console to replace the factory stereo and speedo pod. I have other work I need to get done first though.

 

Do you still have the touchscreen available? I am interested in buying one if you do.

Frankly, why bother? The Android replacement navs that you can get on aliexpress fit like a glove, provide all of the functionality a car PC would, and require zero modifications to the console, etc - although I'm all for car PC setups, here, it just does not seem worth it. Highly recommend a regular R56-specific Android nav. I installed it and it's perfectly adequate for what it should do.
