Yeah I believe they do get airflow, when I feel them after a drive they are warm from air passing by the exhaust and through the vents. Will need to do further testing
To remove them you need to push them towards the front of the car and they will pop out and installing is the opposite, push from the car into the bumper.

This was done like 10 years ago, but the pics are gone because photobucket sucks...

@Turbo R53 I can't even begin to imagine how tedious it must have been to cut out each individual hole.
@MiniKar I would love to make more of these if there is enough interest!
@Joshua P You could use the vent stickers as a tool to drill evenly spaced out holes? or convert to a S bumper

I wish I could see the photos lol seems like they would be super thin to me to sand down till there were holes. Wonder how they remounted it with super thin clips
I trimmed it, looks like you may have to remove the exhaust in order to remove the whole shield, plus I didn't want heat bleeding into the cabin with summer coming.

Made a set of these for a friend and myself because we wanted the rear vents on the bumper to be functional. We ordered the smallest amount of material we could but had enough leftover to make 4 more pairs, so here they are. The vents are not perfectly smooth, there is some flashing but you can't tell, unless you're inspecting them. As you can see by the photos they look perfectly fine when on the car. So yeah, you can have better gas mileage, stop the parachuting effect of your rear bumper, lower your coefficient of drag, and improve the rear aesthetics for $60. Super easy to put on you just pop the old one's out and pop these right in.

I haven't been very active on this forum since I sold my mini, but an update for any of you who are still interested.
Turns out I was out of material and had to order more since my original post was over a year ago. That said, I believe I have pm'd everyone back. I'm looking to make the least amount of trips to the post office as possible so I will either ship them out tomorrow, Friday or next Monday depending on ya'll.
I did take them off of Offerup because I was sick of all the low *****
I will also be actively checking the forum the next few days to respond and get your vents out!
