Category: Brakes
Price: $0

Acquired from a racing team that raced R53 Mini Cooper S's in the grand am series
The kit consists of an intercooler with water jacket inside, hoses to see the size (not enough), a pump, a swirl pot, and the extra front mount intercooler.
This kit is custom made for the R53 Mini Cooper S.
The front intercooler has water running through it and is custom made to fit right in front of your stock radiator.
The top intercooler, while transferring a lot of heat to the lower mounted front intercooler, also has its own fins, making use of the R53's hood scoop.
This is a really cool kit, I bought it for my car but plans changed...
Over $1200 new, custom made parts
Manufactured by Marren, part numbers are stamped onto labels shown in the pictures
No heat soak at all, this kit will keep your high boost and high horsepower engine running even on the hottest days

Heres a link to one already installed as I have yet to install my set up. It appears I have a different radiator setup than yours. Mine is more for mounting on the bottom, below bumper crash bar where as yours would mount in the stock location for a trans cooler if one were to have an automatic. http://lincolnshiremc.forumwise.com/...-0-asc-15.html

Are there any gains to be had at speed with a water/air IC? If so, how much? I can for sure see this thing being a monster for achieving nearly zero heat soak, but other than that, is this worth the money?

My take on it is.. This system was designed for a racing team. Of course being a track car they don't sit in a parking lot like mine would while I go in and have a burger. I think at speed this will further reduce output air temps. Like Koreycon mentioned its not about the gains but rather maximizing what power you have. This setup in my opinion could be run with a 19% pulley and be very effective at cooling. I do look forward to seeing the results through my scan gauge.

none of these systems will touch a water/meth injection system......not even close
