RMW Dominator Cam

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $300
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R53
Location (Region): Midwestern
Item Condition: Used

I have for sale an RMW Dominator Cam. I have a new one so no longer need this one. Honestly has about 4500 miles on it. This cam completely changes the power curve of the R53 and was a great mod. I got something more aggressive so this is up for sale. Send me a PM or a text at 785-323-7148 if you are ready to buy. Will go through PayPal and I will ship it the next day.

Thank you,
Mike.

Have this cam in my car, love the sound and the increased power. Need to put dings in the plug pipes so the lobes will not rub.

If you can turn a wrench, this is a great mod with a smaller pulley.

Good luck with the sale.

Dings in the plug pipes? ick...really??

Is there installation documentation out there somewhere (.pdf?) where I can read up on the install? I might be interested.

Its a cam that produces more horsepower/torque. To accomplish valves need to open longer that equates to the lobes being taller. There is a thread in the Gen1 side where the person did not measure the tolerance and a hole was worn into the plug tube. After dinging, I took my plug socket and ground material off with a grinder so that it fits in the tube. Talking thousands of an inch (thickness of a piece of paper).

Modmini has good video on replacing a head gasket that has all the steps involved with the cam removal/replacement except the car has the stock cam so he does not address the tolerance/ding issue.

You shouldn't have to ding the tube for that cam...on the full race cam yes you do. i have the full race cam and installed a dominator cam on a friends car.

Well the guy with the holes in his plug tubes will be glad to hear that. I used a gauge on mine and the lobes were hitting so I dinged them.

Back to the topic of the thread, the dominator is a good mod.

What RPM range does this cam start to work? Compare to a Schrick?
