Just for mounting to bumper, as some don't use the braces and there is no way to know where someone might want to mount their braces. Lexan is very easy to drill though. If you have a drill, you won't have any problem drilling it..

What kind of speed without braces is attainable? I am not sure I want to brace it, but may have to, as I have seen 114 regularly, and 135 on occasions. Just don't want it blowing off at speed, ya know? So...how fast have you gone and had an unbraced unit stay on the car?
No idea. Mine has always had the braces. IF not using the braces I'd recommend trimming alittle material off each end on the backside of "feet" of the splitter where it butts up to the OEM air diverter under the car so the splitter doesn't stick out front as much.. Just a matter of how you install it. DO NOT attempt to use zip screws, use bolts with washers on both sides..
Sneed's Speed Shop in NC took their MINI to the wind tunnel to test how much down force the front splitter adds. I don't' remember the number but I'm thinking it was 115 pounds of down force. Granted that is dependent on how much splitter is sticking out front catching air..
