Check out JM Turbo Coopers (jmturbocoopers.com) they have been very helpful with my turbo issues.

Just an FYI, but if your turbo failed, you'll likely need a new cat/downpipe too, as well as all of the oil lines.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum here so not sure how to post a new thread, I have a question about a turbo though. I was about to purchase a 2007 Mini Cooper s however it had a check engine light on. The guy at the Mini Cooper shop said it was a turbo liner that needs to be replaced. Does this mean the turbo is leaking ? What is a turbo liner?

How much did they quote you to fix? Maybe they were talking about the oil return line on the turbo. That would make more sense than a "turbo liner".

 

They're selling the car for 12,900 and said the price includes fixing it. I don't think they're being honest though because I've never even heard of a turbo liner and any searches come up with something different

 

Are you sure you heard it correctly? Turbo Line and Turbo Liner sound alike. Maybe he meant Turbo Line and said it wrong.
