Who told me what? I was told there is around 20% more clutch material on the JCW than the other models' clutch.

 

Well, since the S clutch For the R56 and JCW clutch plate are the same and share same part number not sure how that's possible....and do you always cop an attitude when asked a simple question

 

No idea. Bought it from the mini store as a JCW clutch and they told me it was a beefier clutch which I still believe it is. Maybe I was comparing the non-S to the JCW clutch. They're the same price new between the JCW and the S clutch and the price I have here reflects that.

 

There are a few differences in an R56 S and R56 JCW and the clutch is not one of them. That being said if this plate is brand new OEM the price is reasonable.

 

I must have been comparing the factory clutch from a base cooper to a clutch from a JCW- 200mm vs 228mm. Regardless, as ACallahan says, this is a good price for a brand new clutch.

 

This clutch plate from S model is not compatible with a base model as you infer here.....even if it was, one would have to purchased the corresponding clutch plate to match it's diameter going from 200mm to 228mm, and the plates are not available from MINI separately. It's part of the kit with the throw-out bearing....
