These are great injectors. With proper tuning, one can get it to out-perform the stock injectors while maintaining the MPG and idling like OEM.

We have a few customers who have maxxed out on the 550s running E85 fuel ... those are track MINIs, of course.

 

What other modifications are suggested before upgrading to this size of an injector?

 

Basically, the JCW injector (380cc) is just enough to cover for the 15% pulley upgrade. So if you add any more power-mods on top of the 15% pulley (i.e. Cam, BVH), then the injector upgrade is 'recommended'...

 

So correct me if I'm wrong... Wait to get the 550cc till I get an additional upgrade aside from the 15% pulley that I already have. I would be better off getting 380cc in the meantime? I'm looking to getting a tune in the spring.

 

Just keep the stock injectors until you do the tune. Then upgrade to the bigger injectors with a cam/tune upgrade. That's what I would do.

What if I just have the stock 04 r53 s injectors can I still do the pulley upgrade with say a 17% or would 15% be better and 0% crank pulley?

 

It all depends on your driving style and how hard you drive your car.

I have a R53 with exhaust, cai, 17% pulley... should I wait and get a cam before I get these or will these be a good upgrade now (along with a tune)?

 

To get the most bang for your buck, I'd wait for the "cam + 550s + Tune" at the same time. Would also recommend the Thumper ported IM and ACG (Adjusted Cam Gear) with your cam shaft of choice (should the funds allow, of course)

 

Just sold the last few sets to a fellow vendor... have more coming in next Monday.
