What the HECK???

::rant:: ::rant::

OK, why oh why are we classed on the 'East Coast' as opposed to the 'South'??

Hmmmmmmmmmm???

I don't know anyoneone from the Carolinas that would remotely consider themselves associated with the 'East Coast'

So give it up? Who paid who to plant us in the same geography as Maryland???

Are you serious? What, is "east coast" like a code word for New England now, or something? I thought the east coast was, well, the east coast. You know, Cape Hatteras, Charleston, Savannah...

I don't think it was meant as a slight against the heritage or anything. I believe it was set up as such on a more geographical scale. I vaguely remember this discussion way back when the forum areas were originally set up. Technically, Mid-Atlantic would be the keyword, if such a forum existed.
I don't mind it set up like it is because I'm always looking for events between Ga. and Pa.

I suspect if you ask one of these folks where they live geographically, they would say 'the South'

I'm quite certain that no one from Atlanta or Augusta or Charlotte considers themselves to be 'East Coasters'.

C'mon!

Lets see.... Ocean frontage on the Atlantic Ocean.... No frontage on the Gulf of Mexico (i.e. Florida)...

Sounds like East Coast to me

Good try

But they also have
Kentucky
Tennessee
Alabama
Mississippi

grouped under 'East Coast'

Where's Ohio? It's a lot farther East than these guys

Hmmm?

Thought we were the mid-atlantic region... Now I lived in Texas and that was considered the south... this is the SE.. The best place to be!

East Coast or Dukes of Hazzard

Maybe we should just post a confederate flag and class us Dukes of Hazzard.

As the NAM coordinator for the SouthEast forums, I would be happy to ask the powers that be if you could be moved into our regional forums. . .

Someone PM me if you are serious. . .

You tell him Winston. I kinda like the sound of Mid-Atlantic rather then "the south". Oh well, my two cents (union money!)

Dave

boy...this thread has really brought some people out of the woodwork to our forum.

It HAS been facinating how many people read our club forum. I was surprised not to hear more from our own membership, considering that was who I was targeting

Wow !!!

Get heated. I'm from the West Coast of Florida. How dare you say say I'm east coast ! Just kidding.

The way I see it if your east of the Mississippi then your "East". If your state borders on the Atlantic then fair enough East Coast.

The midwest is somewhere in the middle and the West Coast will soon fall off past the San Andreas fault so it doesn't matter anyways.

LOL

**EDIT** I'm a Florida Native living in England.
