Spring Picnic Drive
Spring Picnic Drive
Please respond to this thread for Twister so he can keep track of who all is coming for the drive! I thought that it may get too confusing to have people post all on one post, this way, people who are going on the drive to the picnic can let Twister know and those people like me who aren't going on the drive can just post on the Picnic thread.
The drive will be about an hour and a half and will start some time around 10:30 that morning. Please RSVP here to let Twister know who will be coming. Thanks!

Just thought I'd chime in here.
I test drove the route with Mark this past Sunday and He's got a really good one planned... lots of fun... some really twisty bits ending with some long sweeping curves.
I highly recommend people taking the opportunity to drive this. It's also a great way to work up an appetite for all the yummies Michelle has waiting for us at the Picinic.
If you can't make it to the Dragon this May, do your best to come to this drive... Think of it as a mini Dragon
(Its that much fun)
And to those who are attending this May, this is a great teaser, just a sampling of what MOTD has in store.
I'm very much looking forward to Motoring with everyone then chowing down.
Cheers,
Keith

Well Everyone, this is really going to be fun! Like Keith said we "test" drove it this past Sunday and all I can say is WOOHOO!
The plan is to have everyone in the LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENT parking lot @ 10:30a the morning of the picnic (April 23rd). We will leave at 11:00a. It is right around a 1 hour and 15 minute drive. It ends right at the entrance to Pilot Mountain.
I had a thought last night. If anyone that is coming to the picnic and not planing on doing the drive and has a MINI Van, would you consider picking up people at the drive meet point for those who have passengers that do not want to do the drive? Please let me know.
If you are planing on doing the drive, please bring your walkie-talkie's if you have them.
LOWES is @ University Parkway at HWY 52 north of Winston-Salem. Drivers coming from I-40 east or west take 52 north to University Parkway. Take the first exit and go through 1 light. Enter the first entrance into LOWES parking lot and look for my CR MCS. It's less than 1000 feet from the off ramp.
Questions can be directed to me many ways. Use the winson-salem email address from m2c2.org, Private message here on NAM or AIM=chiliredmcs.
I wish it was this weekend! Oh, I almost forgot! There will be a racing event at Pilot Mountian! Bring your Remote Control MINI's! Sorry to get your hopes up, using your full size MINI's! HAHA!

Welcome StylishGirl,
Glad to some response here. The drive will not disappoint.
You and your Cooper will have a great time.
If you can, think about staying for the picnic that follows at Pilot Mt.
Free food, games and fun.
See you there,
Keith

Lynn,
Please check out the link below in regards to the picnic. It is a pot luck picnic. All the information is provided pretty much on the first post. I'll go and put you down. Please let me know if you'll be bringing anyone with you.

Hi Michelle,
I will be coming alone.
I'm avoiding carbs (trying to lose weight), but I can bring whatever is most needed, or I can donate to help cover expenses, whichever is preferred -- just let me know what I should do please.
Thanks,
Lynn

Mark/Keith,
This drive sounds like it's going to be fun. I would like to do it but...my wife has agreed to make a cake for the picnic and I wouldn't want it to get tossed around all over the car during the drive. However, if there are folks that are meeting up with the drive crew but are going on to Pilot Mt. instead of going on the drive, maybe we could send the cake with them???

Anyone bringing stuff to eat that wants to do the drive can drop off things to Michelle at the meeting place before 10:30. She will transport your cake Eric and any other food items that drivers need to not have in car while we motor.
Picnic Drive
Forgive the late response
Mini Jax- CR/W with Union Jack mirror caps & fraternal twin (yet to be named) of new members George & Gloria would like to join in the drive prior to the picnic fun.
thanks for organizing this!

Plans for the day have changed. You can put me down as a really strong "possible".
My only concern is the rubber on the car is getting a bit thin so I'll have to wait to see how the weather is. Worn Perillis and wet roads can be an exciting combination.

I'll be at Lowe's around 10 to greet everyone. Bring walkie talkies if you have them.
Lowe's is on University Parkway off 52 north as a reminder. I'll be up near top of parking lot. Just look for the fast MINI!
