I've been checking with Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion about some group rates. From what I can tell, Kings Dominion is a little cheaper. This is what I've found out so far for either in July or August:

$29.00 for ages 7 and up
$24.00 for children 3-6
$21.99 for children ages 3-12 from July 12 - July 25

They also offer a picnic package, but I will need to call and get the pricing on that.

These prices are good groups of 15 or more people. I need to contact the people at the park to see if they would allow us to park all of the MINIs in one spot. I also have some people in the VA, DC and MD area that may want to join us as well.

If anyone is interested, please let me know which month would be better and I will get in touch with some hotels up there for those wanting to stay overnight. I'm hoping that we will get a decent rate.

Michelle

I definately want to go... I would prefer it to be mid-July.

If we are talking about an overnight stay, what are the thoughts on having a weekday ( Fri or Mon ) as one of the days to enjoy the park with much smaller crowds. I was there on Sat, May 15 and we waited 1 - 1.5 hours per ride (Volcano, XLC, etc)

July would be great! There are not group functions scheduled at all for that month. I do agree with you with the crowds that they'll get on a Saturday! I would be more inclined to do a Sunday/Monday deal. I know that Monday shouldn't be too bad, but Sunday's may. I'll contact them and get more information today.

If you're interested that's great! It's about the same for us from here...depending on where you live! I've already had a vote for July. I guess I'll try to get more information from them this week. I'm hoping that we can get at least 15 people to go, so we can take advantage of the discount price.

Here is one vote for the last week in July as I'll be able to attend no matter the dates decided.
I agree with the Chris that a weekday is necessary, the LINE Ride is not fun, so anything to avoid that is a great idea.
For a 2 day thing, are We planning on visiiting the park both days? or is one a drive day?

I've never been to the area parks, so this sounds like alot of fun... (Are any of the rides more fun than the MINI?

I have to say the Volcano is up there on fun list. The acceleration is unbelieveable!

Wish the family and I could make it, but those two weekends are already booked (as are every weekend in July). Have fun and happy motoring!

BTW, why King's Dominion and not Carowinds?

Hi Michelle,
I have to apologize... I totally forgot to bring up this event in last night's M2C2 meeting.
Have you had any more interest in this event through PM's. I am still very much interested in going to a park. I have a feeling it's going to be lie a "Build it and they will come" type event.

I can get discount tickets anytime through my work, so we shouldn't have to worry too much about getting a certain number of people to commit, short of paying me for tickets I would have to buy.

You know I thought about this too after the fact. I do know that AudioMan is interested, but with his work schedule, the first weekend in August is better for him. I also have discounts offered through my work as well, and I picked up several just in case. I would love to go, so should we just go on and put a date together and see if we get anyone to show up or express interest???

That would be my suggestion... just set the date.

From my family, my daughter (and her boyfriend with soon to be delivered MCS) and I are still planning on going.
