Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Every 3rd Thursday of the month
2004 dates: June 17, July 15, Aug 19, Sept 16, Oct 21, Nov 18, Dec 16

Place: TBD - We are trying to settle in on a restaurant that is not too noisy and can accomate a varying number of people. Check the forum this message is posted in for monthly meetings.

All,
In an order to get critical mass for the Triangle Chapter of M2C2, we would like to starting having a monthly dinner meeting/gathering.

This would be an opportunity to discuss future events, club related or not, meet fellow MINI owners and stay in toiuch on a regular basis and certainly oogle over modifications any of us may have made to our MINI's.

The restaurant has a private room we can use but we need to have around 20 people attending to reserve. We may not be able to use room initially, but hopefully we will grow into it.

I look forward to seeing many MINI owners on a regular basis.

All members and non-members are welcome!

Please PM me to RSVP these 1st few months so I can get a head count. We need at least 12 to get the room this 1st month.

Chris Suich

I know the place well! I have eaten there many times during my 15 week work stint up there! I stayed at the Baymont Inn just up the road...

I've marked my calendar for the meetings starting in August. I'll be in Indianapolis on June 17th for the USGP and in NY for the July date.

Great idea!

Like Bob, I'll be flying solo as well!

Bob,

If you want, just bring the CD with you and I'll give you a check for it!

Just one. BTW, were we able to get the private room and if not, how will we recognize each other?

I'll be the one driving a MINI.

I guess I can wear my nifty NAM ID button.

I agree with Bob! Although I don't have a nifty NAM ID button, I can wear my tank top with the classic red mini on it! Now, just watch me freeze in the restaurant!

Bob, so far my car is doing fine...no more weird noises, unless you hear from me, I'll see you tomorrow night!

All...
No we won't have a room. I've only had 10 owners reply. We will have to be at a combined table for tomorrow night. I will need to get there early to get on host's list to setup tables.

As far as knowing one another... wear a MINI shirt.
I figured we all be mingling around cars for 15-30 minutes or so before going in to eat. If you are late, just ask for the MINI table.

Also... when I called a month ago to check on the 3rd Thursday of the month, I was told there was no other group already scheduled. Well... that was misinformation. Guess who already meets at this restaurant on this night... a local BMW club. (We'll just have to crash there party )

So... we may need to pick another night or location. An item of discussion for tomorrow night.

Rock on, and I'll have a MINI shirt on and I'll be the one sporting the black MCS, oh wait, Bob has one too! I'll bring the little buisiness cards to look at too. This way we can decide if we want to give them out, or change them up. This way, people who are enthusiasts but don't know about our group, will get a little card! Now, I"m not a graphic designer, so they are the best I could come up with! Just a start!

See you all tomorrow night!

Had a fun time at the meeting. Here's a couple pics that one of the BMW guys took and sent me. Email or PM me if you have problems with the link.

http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/moo...ockx/my_photos

While it was fun talking to the BMW group, I'd like to echo and respond to Michelle's question.
I think, especially if the group grows as we'd like it to, we need to come up with another place to meet. Like I said it was fun, and it was very nice of the BMW group to invite us to share the room with them, however, it was near impossible to carry on any kind of "serious" group discussion.
Michelle, I think the effort you put in to the handout card idea is to be commended. A thought I had on the way home about these would be to add a
line on it saying something about the monthly chapter meeting. That way, even
if someone doesn't go online to the forums, they'll still have that info in their hand. Of course we need to settle on a place before that can happen.

Thanks Bob! They weren't the greatest, but at least they give us a starting point! I'm up for any place to meet, just let me know. It was cool and all, but if we wanted to get into a more serious conversation on issues, it would be hard with the BMW people there. Other than that, like I mentioned earlier, it was great!

Michelle

P.S. bob, the CDs rock! THanks!
