Thought I would start a thread to see what local NC peeps are going this year. I am thinking about it. When would you leave and return?

 

I am going and so is Art. We are leaving Tuesday and coming back Sunday. I think Carol has booked a flight and room also from Colorado. Haven't heard of anyone else going. Come on and go with us, can Bob make it too.?

 

I want to go but I don't think I can leave on Tuesday. Are you and Art sharing a room? If Bob does go it will have to be like last time we went...he would have to fly in. He could drive back with us on Sunday though.

 

No I think Lisa is going so I booked my own room.

 

Rumour has it, a ruffcat will be there!

 

I just booked our room, we will be going down on Thursday and returning Sunday.

FWIW, we'll be heading down Thursday from Hampton Roads. Not exactly when we're leaving, but we'll be on 95 before noon-hopefully!

 

I'm going but won't be down until Friday noonish. I gotta work in Hilton Head on Thursday and I will be driving home on Sunday. See you guys there!

 

Just booked our room. We are heading down Thursday afternoon and back on Sunday. Should be fun.

 

Question... since this is the first big event we are going to, what is the norm... do you try and particiapte in all events and hit the group dinners??

I am wondering the same thing. I booked my room and am planning on heading down on Thursday. I think I forgot to book Thursday night .. now that I think of it...LOL. Well maybe I won't leave until Friday

I haven't registered at Mickey and Mini website yet to wait to see whos doing the "extras". Luke...Carol....Cindy what are you all doing?

 

We usually just "go with the flow". If we feel like doing one of the scheduled drives or dinners or whatever, we do. If not, it's just a fun, and usually more informative, to just hang out in the parking lot, or lobby and shoot the breeze with fellow MINI owners.

I've done MTTS and the Dragon as well as our events at HR MINI, and being regimented to be "somewhere" and "Sometime" just seems to cramp the fun of the event.

Having said that, for your first event, I'd try to do as much as possible. That way you get to see what works for you. But don't feel terrible if you miss something. And for God sake, make sure you strike up conversations. I've seen MINI owners go to an event, never talk to anyone then go home thinking this kinda stuff isn't for them. Like anything else, you'll get outta it, what ya put into it! Besides, have ya ever seen a MINI owner that DIDN'T wanna talk about their MINI?

Ok.. WOOT I bought my plane ticket!!(s) notice the (S)? /Cuz i bought two sets.. one for the weekend before and the other for the weekend after. Thank god the airline took pity on me, and reversed the first set..

Unfortunately, something has come up and I will not be able to attend this year. Have fun. May need someone to pick up my 2 - goodie bags.

I'd like to plan on hitting I95 at Emporia, VA around noon. That should put me at Orlando about midnight-ish. If anyone is planning on heading down from NC mid afternoon, I'd be glad to join up with ya.
