Anyone in NY get the electrical inspection done yet?

I got an email to schedule an inspection and couldn't reply for a week, at which point I was called on my phone and asked to supply some dates for the inspection.

I sent two emails and called back the CleanFuel rep within the last week and haven't heard anything back.

Has anyone had their inspection done in NY/NJ or go through anything similar?

Live in Westchester County... had my inspection done last week. Permits have been pulled, waiting for the box to arrive from MINI, then the installation will take place. The electrician thinks maybe next week.

Inspection Passed

I had my inspection done last Saturday. My panel is in the garage and the inspector said that he could split a breaker so it seems there's no problem. I have 150A service.

I think MINI underestimated how difficult it would be for people to charge an electric car in their garage. I've been hearing about a lot of people dropping out from that problem alone.

I live in Westchester County (NY), have not heard anything for months (other than the "hold on to it, we need your money" emails).
Best

I told my MA that I wouldn't be taking the lease do to costs of electrical upgrades. She called back a few days later asking for clarification and if I would like CFCI to come anyway and see if the work would be less expensive (friend did estimate for 200A upgrade and 60A sub in garage). I said sure. Within a week, CFCI called me for an appointment.
Prior to that, it was at least three weeks since I told them of my availability and heard NOTHING.

Call your MA. It may work out. I met the Westchester rep at the auto show and talked to him a bit. Nice guy and would probably work for you.

My inspection is tomorrow morning, though I'm not optimistic.

I am in NJ, and it was 16 days from when I first heard from CFCI's rep (from Green Power Technologies) to when my inspection happened (last Friday). There are several levels of indirection in the process, and it seems to be kind of frustrating even for the electricians. The electrician who did my inspection last Friday had come to my house a week before my actual appointment and waited an hour; then he called someone, and was told the appointment had been cancelled. :-\} Me? No one had ever told me I had one on that earlier date! Kind of a waste of time, no?

Received an initial email on May 11 to list a couple of appointment slots, which I responded to. Then received an email on May 13 from
Green Power Technology, LLC (Chris Reich) to schedule for this monday (May18). Eventually, that appointment happened this morning at 6:30am-had Chris (Master Electrician, subcontractor to Green Power/Mini) over. He mentioned that it would be mandatory to have a 200A service no matter what. So with my 100A I would have to upgrade and get a new panel also. In addition, since my garage is detached and the cables going into the garage are too small in diameter to get the 40A across for the Charge Station, a new cable needs to be dug into the ground to connect the panel to the gararage located Charge Station. He already indicated that this will be "a couple of thousand dollars" and that Mini would only pick up the standard installation (which assumes 200A and the right sized cable going into the garage). So the net bill of a little less than "a couple of thousand dollars" would be for me to pick up. Will update this once I get the estimate, which he said would take several weeks because he needs to establish the quote, send it to Mini to have them determine which portion they would pick up and then send it to me for determination/ signature.

So nothing unexpected and unfortunately this will probably be too much for me to stay in. But let's wait and see.

Strange that this is required on the east coast as many of us on the west coast only have 100A and have had the box installed

100 amps with installed chargers on West Coast vs. this 200 amp information on East Coast. This is the kind of stuff for which MINI should have established an e-mail question line or a FAQ or web site for participants, long ago. Frustrating.

We were inspected last week but have heard nothing since. (OK, we got the email stating they want us to take deliver and use the 110V cable.)
