Edge Motorworks

I need an Inspection 1 Service, coolant flush and brake fluid change on my 2002 MCS.

Anyone have any feedback on Edge Motorworks in Dublin?

Hey Miniac,

I've had (almost) all my aftermarket work by Edge. Erik is a great, down to earth, guy. They just expanded the shop so they have a dedicated "quick service" bay. Good on price and BMW's and Mini's are all they do, so they know their stuff.

I second the hearty endorsement of Edge Motorworks. Top-notch service and knowledge from the entire team there. If I have any gripes with them, it's that they're always busy and swamped with customers.

FWIW, I did a dyno and alignment/corner-balancing with them, and they took the time to ensure that my alignment was still in spec a month after they did the work. It's not very often you encounter great service like that at such reasonable rates. They're one of the two shops I would bring my MINI to in the Bay Area.

I third the endorsement. Since my dealer warranty expired, I have had all maintenance and repairs done by Edge. I ended up with some transmission issues that weren't their fault, but they really went out of their way to diagnois the problem and be helpful. I think you would be pleased with Edge.

Here's a plug for Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland. They do great mechanical and body work. In addition, Jacques is a very fast MINI racer. Good folks.

A & E Performance, in Campbell, did alright by me - if you wanted someone in the south bay.

I apologize for the delayed response! I really should check in with the NorCal forum more often.

Aside from Edge Motorworks, the other shop is Bay Bridge Motors, as mentioned before in this thread. When I lived in Alameda, BBM was closer and the only shop I went to. Both Edge and BBM have very knowledgeable staff that I trust more than my dealership (the same dealership who insisted the my BBK calipers were installed backwards).

Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either one. I've seen a few other independent shops in the area that allege to be MINI/BMW experts, but with two excellent shops in the East Bay, I'm not tempted to go shopping around.

Edge motorworks is a good shop.
I had my JCW mini corner ballanced and aligned for AutoX
after installing a bunch of suspention mods myself. They were
very helpful reasonably priced and did a great job.
I'll be going there again next time I need shop work done!
