JCW exhaust + Header
JCW exhaust + Header
I keep looking around here and waiting, but have found nothing. I am waiting for someone to prove me wrong.
I am looking for a livable exhaust system with header and cat back. I know I can do the one-ball, but I am worried about it sounding tinny. I can only find a clip with the one ball without a header.
After reading about everyone taking the resonator out of their JCW exhaust I started thinking...couldn't I turn up the volume by adding a header and getting a few extra hp at the same time? I know I cannot be the only person to think of this, so please fill me in with why you did or did not do this and how does it sound.
Thanks

I did it with the OBX and a high flow cat with the res removed. With the high flow cat it was a bit too much for me. Its not tinny at all, a bit loud and raspy but it seems at WOT the SC with the CAI makes the most noise. You can always experiment and tune the volume anyway you want. Good luck.

I would appreciate it.
I have the time to do it right now...but my car is at the dealer getting fixed!! :-( go figure. You should have them by tomorrow hopefully :-)

J/k Got to give you a hard time.
Haha, just a few things acting up.
My clutch cylinder slave failed...pedal went to the floor couldn't get the car in gear.
Somehow it also affected by brake fluid system too.
I'll have it back tomorrow and will make the clips for you then!

hey guys, sorry about that, lost track of this thread. Am out of town at the moment, but as soon as i get back (monday), i'll make a recording.
Just to remind you guys, i have a oneball + OBX header + stock cat. (OBX went on last week) Still want the recording?
FWIW, the OBX made the car burble a lot less, and still sounds pretty much the same as the oneball + stock headers
The burbles/popping actually does not sound too good when the exhaust is cold. Very poppy...like "bang, bang" kinda like a gunshot. When the exhaust gets warm though...mmmm it turns into much more mellow, but very audible burble, which sounds fantastic.
I think...
My old oneball used to burble something insane. The OBX made it burble about half as much. I get barely any burbles when it's cold. When it's hot it burbles more. I absolutely love my burbles, and was very sad to see half of them go, lol. It's true. Maybe when i get my new MTH file to suit the headers, they'll return.
I will make a recording as soon as I get back.
