Manufacturers rear camber specifications?

Does anyone know what manufactures specifications for rear camber for an 06 MCSC JCW would be. I had my car lowered and they can't seem to get less than -2.0 rear camber and I can't decide if it is worth getting adjustable rear control arms or not?

Well, I have adjustable control arms and I'm running -2 on purpose.

I autocross every once in awhile. -2 in the rear with adjustable camber plates in the front give me a nice compromise for street use and the ability to tweak the front for AutoX.

I think factory is anywhere from -1.3 to -1.6 ??
Running -2 in the rear with factory set fronts is a mistake. This will create even more high speed understeer. You really should get a set of lower rear control arms or front camber plates

You have all the equipment to adjust and set camber a toe at the auto-x track?

I'd like to see that too (adjusting camber and toe at the track.) I think the stock rear camber has a pretty big range and onasled's suggestion is in that range. Most that I see when driving around look to be around -1.5deg (roughly!) The front is -0.5 stock or thereabouts (this can easily be seen when following a stock MINI.)
Although there are many threads suggesting settings for street/occasional track days, even reversing the stock camber settings would be better. I have noticed much less understeer since going with -2 Front and -1.3 rear as onasled points out.

cheers,

So if the front is fixed at factory setting because of no camber plates what would be the best setting for the rears, even if I had to get adjustable control arms?

If you are autoXing, try 1 degree neg with either zero toe or slight toe in...unless you are familiar enough with the car in its current state to try rear toe out.

If you are tracking the car and need to drive it every day, stick with the factory specs; 1.35 degrees neg camber...I cannot remember the stock toe setting out back.

According to my recent dealership alignment, stock toe in the rear is (+)12 minutes (+/-) 4 minutes (i.e., toe in), which is about 1/5 (+/- 1/15) of a degree.

Theoretically, 17" wheels and 205x45x17 tires have a radius of about 12 1/8", which equals about (+)1/32" +/- (a little less than) 1/64". If you have 18" wheels/tires or 17s with different aspect ratio, the numbers will change a little bit.

For all factory alignment specs, see this thread:

No but I'm set up with -1.2 front and -2 rear. I'm happy with that for now. My point was that with my camber plates I'm able to try different setups and have come to this with my mechanic and seem to like it. We shall see - it's easy enough to change.

Degrees and minutes???

I'm confused with alignment specs on this board vs. what my dealer comes up with.

I installed PSS9, rear H Sport adjustable bars and front camber plate.

I asked for -2.1 deg. camber in the front and -1.6 deg. camber in the rear.

He got it to -2 deg 13' in the front,
what's the difference between -2.1 deg and -2 deg 13'?

In the rear he got me -2 deg 01', I asked for -1.6 deg., he said he couldn't get it any closer than -2 deg 01', I spent money on H Sport links, you won't tell me they can't get -1.6 deg. it was at -1 deg. 54' before he touched it, what the hell is wrong with that picture? do you think I should take it back?

I had spent $79 at a shop who didn't do a thing, then went to 3 other shops who can't do my car and my only option was the dealer and they don't do what I asked for, how the hell do you guys get your wheel alignment done? I'm sick and tired of this BS, I can't find anyone to do what I want in this city, the dealer charged me $140 and didn't give me what I want and I had to waste a day of work without pay, should I ship the car to the US to get this done? I'm getting pretty sick and tired of this, at the rate I'm going I will have to pay enough to buy my own equipment before it's done right.

I hate spending all that money on suspension parts and brakes and have a crappy alignment preventing me from enjoying the mods, should I live with it or take it back till they give me what I want?

I even installed a 22mm rear sway bar and upgrade the brakes.
