Warped rotors - replacment questions

Hey guys, got some vibration in the wheel under braking. Pretty sure my front rotors are a bit warped.

I do not track the car at all. Just some aggresive street driving. Is it worth the extra money to go to aftermarket cross drilled/slotted rotors ? or just get the oem pieces?

And also brake pads. Stock replacments, or something else which will stop good. Last a long while and put out less dust.

What should I expect for prices for stock front rotors?

And how much price difference is there between stock and upgraded low dust pads?

I just got new rotors (plain-faced Brembos on the fronts and OEMs on the rears) and pads before the Dragon a few weeks ago. Went with the Hawk ceramic street-race pads and they are great! Waaaaaay less brake dust! My wheels look clean, even after being at the Dragon!!!!

I would reccomed ceramic pads available for the local auto parts shop. They stop better, and have less than 10% the dust output, cost $50 and wear much much slower, and don't squeak. Form what I heard on WRR a "set" of stock rotors run about $90, I know the Nuzzo race team unly upgrades fluid and pads and leaves stock calipers and rotors, so they are capable.

Cross drilled calipers are not good for street use.

if your going to upgrade, get powerslots or a comparable slotted rotor.

cross drilled + daily driver = cracked rotors.

Brembo stock replacements + Hawk ceramic pads sound like a good combo to me

Not paying BMW price for parts + i know both names from my VW days.

Anyone have part numbers for front Brembo rotors and the hawk pads?

The local shop i order from is great for prices, but none to bright. Part numbers ensure they dont screw up the order

Maybe if you get matching cross drilled brake lines?

Be aware that some of the slotted or drilled rotors make a "pumping" or whooshing sound when using the brakes, so may be a good idea to search for reviews first. And warped rotors are frequently from improperly torqued lugs.

Bugs, I'll try to find the part numbers for you, and will post them here in this thread.

Bugs, PM me and I'll sell you my OEM rotors and Hawk Ceramics for $100 the lot plus shipping. I have a BBK and they are just sitting there in a box in my garage. Maybe they have 7k on them, and the Hawk pads have 5k on them.
cheers, phil

I think the stock rotors are the cheapest. If I'm correct it's like under $70 for a pair.

wow. I just called MINI Oakville (closest mini dealer)... 126$ a piece!!

Local parts house has Raybestos rotors for about 70$ for the PAIR..
And ceramic pads for another 40$.

Now the question is, for a daily driver, non tracker, is it worth the extra money to get the Brembos from Helix13 (ends up close to 70$ each after exchange etc) and the additional price for the Hawk pads?

I like the red ones....plus the added benefit of "air brakes".
