My Stealth iPod Install

I been thinking of changing the location of my iPod. I had it under the ebrake, but it cluttered up the area especially w/ my hands-free unit next to it and I don't like the idea of it being visible from the outside.

I don't know if anyone has done this yet, but here is my solution.

Now you see it...

Now you don't...

I can easily pull it out if I want to take it somewhere. I use my HU to control it so there's no need to have easy access to the controls while driving.

Looks great. What was your address?

So are you using the OEM ipod adapter or the Dennison?

Is this one of those before-and-after types of photography used in wrinkle/balding commercials?

The angle on the second picture is a little higher than on the first. There is a piece of dashboard trim in the second that is not in the first. Is it hiding in there?

Very clean, nice job!

It looks like it is attached to the inside of the knee bolster, which is hinged open in the first photograph. This technique won't work for those of us with the Euro parcel shelf.

You are correct The first pic is open, the second is closed.

Yeah, but I've found that if you run your wire to the parcel shelf and just set your iPod on it, it stays in place and you can't see it from outside the car.

That's how I've got mine set up. I ran the iPod adapter wire from the HU, out the left side, and in the gap between the steering column and the parcel shelf. Funny enough, I already had a black case for my ipod to prevent scratching, but it doubles as a way to blend the ipod in even more. It is hidden well enough that I often forget to bring it inside on cold days, while the Mini sleeps in the driveway
