iPod + Satellite? how are you doing it?

Is anyone running 2 audio sources into their single aux input? if so how?

I'm running an iPod through the belkin audio adapter into my aux input and would like to add Sirius to the mix. However, since the belkin constantly puts a signal out even if the ipod is off, it makes using a simple splitter impossible unless i run another cable out of the head phone jack. I'd like to continue using the Belkin or somthing like it.

Thoughts?

Why not the OEM Sirius?

You may be able to install it yourself and save a bunch of money...

As for your original request, consider ditching the Belkin adapter and using a SendStation PocketDock for direct, unamplified line-out from the iPod.

If you want something more elaborate, consider the Dension ice>Link:Plus.

Paul, I gather your surprise was in reference to a Sirius receiver? I imagine it depends on which receiver.

Got a question. If you are using the Aux input, why are you using an audio adapter? or am I misreading the post?

there's a couple things here...

1. the belkin audio adapter is not realy adapter. that's the wrong word. it's the charger that plugs into the dock and has an 'audio out' jack.

2. i don't have an aux input (2002 MC) but i use the blitzsafe adapter that basically is the same thing as an AUX input in newer MINIs.

make sense?

Got it. I looked at your join date and figured you had a 2003. There I go assuming again. I got to stop doing that.

I'm sure you've probably thought about it but here is an option. purchase a slightly used 2003 head unit. which you can probably find in the marketplace (cheap). plus $40 for the aux input. but loss of use of the Belkin. But now you can plug in anything that uses a headphone jack.

here is a person looking to sell his non hk head

sorry I can't help more than that.

Sounds like the same issue I had.

I just finished installing a portable DVD player on the passenger seat headrest. I already had a Sirius PnP unit connected to the aux input so I needed to switch between 2 audio sources (Sirius and DVD).

I found this at Radio Shack:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

It's made for a computer, but it works great. I plugged the Sirius into one input and the DVD into the other. It's a small switch box (about half the size of a deck of cards) so I mounted it with double sided tape on my parcel shelf.
