MINI5280 presents....MINI PODCASTS!!
MINI5280 presents....MINI PODCASTS!!
Well, not MINI5280 exactly. But we are telling you about them here, and we are telling you about them first. Here is the deal:
Last spring on my way to the Dragon (www.tailofthedragon.com) I stopped in KC to re-visit some MINI friends that joined us on the way to Vegas last winter (www.aminivacationinvegas.com) . Anyway, we have BBQ for lunch (natch) and I meet this guy named Todd ( www.toddsmods.com) . Well he is a cool dude and clever and he does mods to MINIs, mostly graphics. As it turns out, he now turns up with a new PodCast (whateverthehellthatis) and it is found at www.whiteroofradio.com (very clever title indeed).
Turns out he and this other California dude db have these so called 'PodCasts' (someone had to explain to me what a blog was, too) where they go online (apparently you listen thru your computer or some other fancy schmancy e-device) and all they talk about is MINIS.
These dudes as I said are clever. They have a new 'Woof' every Wednesday and Sunday.
They also note that you do NOT need an iPod to listen in and join. What you need is a computer that plays mp3 files. You need a program called 'podcatcher' or 'ipodder' or somesuch, or you can use an use an online subscription service called Odeo or Podnova or somesuch whateverthehellthatis stuff and get it that way. Further, they say you can transfer these podcasts to your ipod, a CD or a DVD. Hmmmm. The calls they say are made using Skype. Sounds like Tripe. Yum.
Whatever. Go to their site at www.whiteroofradio.com and figure it out yourself. Then post here and let the rest of us techno-ignorants know what it is about. Or show us how to do it ourselves.
Thanks, have fun, and somebody please - clue me in to whateverthehellIamtalkingabout.

Thanks!
For those that might have missed it, we had Randy Webb on last week talking about all manner of things, including adiabatic expansion. You can check it out here
If you are confused about what a podcast it, we also have a handy dandy FAQ up to answer those questions.
And, no, you don't need an iPod!

Mini Podcasts
FYI, I was able to listen and save the podcasts on my computer with both Real Player and QuickTime(MAC
) and Windows Media Player. MusicMatch was real slow, so I did not use it. Also, Real Player has Annabelle the Sheep Visualization that dances to the audio.
