Its okay. More power will be made with ECU mod. I recommend Evo-Tech.

not too worried with what brands etc ( theres enough threads out there on this )

iterseted in if by running a 15% pulley on stock ecu will stuff the engine or anything else.

Thanks for your reply

I removed my Uni-Chip for a dealer visit and notice that my MINI is not as happy as it was with it. Will reinstall it ASAP!

I've been running with my 15% + stock ECU with no problems. I drive hard and I have had no issues.

absolutley no issues with running a 15% pulley without software... ive had several cars running 15% pulleys and had them dynoed and their Air Fuel ration was perfectly totally safe. I say this with personal experiance as evidence for my claim. When we added software to one of the cars it made the car a little smoother but with no noticble power increase not to say that their isn't one... just not a noticable differnce.
I think that the factory ECU can adjust pretty well for the 15% pulley... just my $.02

Two modes to think about...

for non hammer down driving, the mixture is set by the 02 sensor and the computer. It will be fine.

For wide open throttle, when it's in open loop, the car is so friggin rich that a pully probably HELPS a/f ratios!

Go for it, many have, and many are real happy!

Not sure where you got that number. Randy Webb posted 11 ft/lbs and 16 horsepower from his dyno results with an Alta 15% reduction pulley. Maybe 4 whp with just a 2% crankshaft pulley is what you meant?

Another question regarding 15% pulley with stock ECU. I'm getting a 15% pulley and K&N CAI, will it work fine with the CAI aswell? Do I just start it up after installation or do I have to have the ignition in a certain position for a while first?
I'm getting the MTH tune-up later, but I want to drive my car while waiting for the files..

your car will be totally fine... start it up... give it time to warm up... and enjoy the speed and sound of your "new" car... the car will be like a whole new car with those two mods! ENJOY!

I had the 15% pulley, CAI & Exhaust for several months before I got the MTH. No problems. I would suggest the with the 15% you may want to consider a colder heat range spark plug. I have the IK-22

Yes, Randy Webb also recommends a colder heat range spark plug with any size pulley smaller than the stock one. He's tested the Denso Iridium plugs and saw a 4 hp gain! just by switching the spark plugs alone!

Not too shabby.
