Used '05 S coupe - is this a good deal?

Hi all, just curious what you think about an '05 S Coupe that I have found.

4,500 miles, no accidents or paintwork. From a Euro car dealer I trust and have done business with in the past. Delivered in Feb 05. One owner who has been transferred to Mexico and traded the car for an SUV.

The car is in immaculate condition. Options:

- Hyper Blue Metallic
- Panther Black Gravity Leather
- Combo #4 Convenience
- Combo #3 Cold Weather
- Combo #1 Premium
- Chrome Line Exterior
- Park Distance Control
- Xenon Headlights

MSRP $26,020 (w/destination). Plus dealer installed armrest.

I can get it for $24,400. Seems like a good deal to me. Opinions?

Thanks!

If that is exactly what you want in terms of color and what it has got, and you are not willing to wait, then to you it is a good deal. I personally would suggest that you may rather order one as it seems by now you'll get an 06.
Happy motoring,

Sounds pretty good to me, as long as the car doesn't have any features that you yourself wouldn't have ordered (park distance control? xenons?). Otherwise you could likely order a new one for almost the exact same price, so you'd just be sacrificing mileage for features that you don't want/need. Believe it or not, that's about as good a deal as you're going to find for a slightly used MINI!

Oh, and welcome to NAM!

To give you a California perspective ....

I saw a used 2002 Mini Cooper (not S) with 30,000 miles for $22,000 just last week at a Nissan Dealership. It used to be hard to buy a cooper in California without a wait, and I think that is still the case now.

I waited 4 months and bought my out of state MSRP MCS for about $26K as I remember.

So from my perspective, you have a great deal.

Personally, i would want a car with the options that I want, not someone else's. If those are the options you want, then go for it. YOu are basically getting the leather and park distance for the price of 4500 miles.

I have noticed around the NY area, that the Mini's don't seem to be holding thier value as well as they used to. I've seen '05 MCS's for 20-22 with little to no mileage. I have also seen a JCW for $25,900 the other day.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to go drive it in the next day or so and make a decision. The car is pretty much the way I would order it, with the exception of the Park Distance Control so I will probably pull the trigger.

I pulled the trigger this afternoon. Quite happy - pictures tomorrow after I clay bar the paint and wax with P21S.

I love the exhaust note. Is the "burble" normal when letting up on the gas after med/hard acceleration in 1st or 2nd gear?

I knew you were done when you went for the drive. Hard to turn back from that. Congratulations.
