Road Trip Observation

Ok, we just got back from a road trip from Houston to Orlando to Key West to Orlando to Houston... On the road we saw only two Minis... in Orlando we saw 4 (one black on black with Alteza Tail lights parked down the street from our friend's house in Winter Park), in Key West we saw 5 ... I see more than that total driving to and from work in Houston... curious......

Not that I am complaining, the less I see the better my resale value

My wife and I drove from New England to California via New Orleans, Dallas, Santa Fe, Grand Canyon, Sequoia and finally San Francisco. On the return was Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone, Deadwood, Badlands, St. Louis, Niagra Falls and finally New England. It was 9,300 miles of MINI-scanning!

Total MINIs seen: 27
Most Frequent Color, MCS: Electric Blue
Most Frequent Color, MC: BRG and Chili Red (tie)
Highest Concentration of MINIs: San Francisco (13)
Region of fewest MINIs: New Orleans to Sequoia (3)
Most Suprising MINI Sighting: Wrecked MINI on a Flatbed in Wall, SD (Florida Plates!)

I've been on the road since April 7 and except for The Dragon, I've hardly seen any MINIs at all on the road! Seriously, between Arizona (through New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi) and into Alabama (driven in about 24 hours straight with YuccaPatrol), I/we saw ZERO MINIs!

Now in New Orleans and Wanda is REALLY turning heads....I love the smiles and thumbs-up she gets! Onto Houston tomorrow.....maybe we'll see a MINI!!???

I tend to see more Minis in urban areas. On our trip to Napa I didn't see any Mini's there or during the trip. During my lunchbreak in Livermore once I saw 5 in town all within a 5 minute drivetime, so I guess it all depends.

Very funny CoopBeagieBeag! BTW, the other night, koolmini called me as he motored from the airport to his hotel in San Jose, CA, for a business conference. (Tee hee...he was in a POS Monte Carlo!) Anyway, while we chatted for about 10-15 minutes, he saw FIVE MINIs!

Getting ready to check out of our hotel in New Orleans and drive to Houston. I really WANT to wave to another MINI driver! Execute techniques 13 and 72B, now!

On my April trip from Montana to Michigan to Ohio (to pick up the MINI) to Kansas City and home, the place with the most MINIs was Ann Arbor, MI. They seemed to be everywhere. In Mentor, Ohio (home of Classic MINI), other than at the dealer, nothing.

Not surprising.
I live near SF. and am within 40 mi. of 4 MINI dealers (Pleasanton, Concord, San Francisco, and San Jose). There's a 5th one in Sacramento. So, If you're in that area, you'll see a lot of MINIs. (Unless evasion technique 51A-2 is in effect.)
